Okay! I'm sorry for further hoping for an image...

But weather you like it or not, in the end it will be either all DLLs + EXEs cured from SForce or a MiniImage that will fool!!

You can have 4GB images archived to 5mb, the only thing in the image is file attributes and the protection, the rest are 0's. Which gives the effect of a full image.

And they have had these images for quite a while.

Before you call someone retarted, perhaps you should find out more about the subject at hand first.

Hi everyone, I've been fiddling around with the archive found on GameCopyWorld but I cant get it to work, anyone else had any luck? I dont really understand how the mini image works, I cant get it to work

dederon 27-04-2005 09:24

Is the "Silent Hunter 3 [ALL] No-DVD/Fixed Image" work?
http://m0003.gamecopyworld.com/games...hunter_3.shtml

dvdwildsau 27-04-2005 09:34

i think no

its just like the mini image of SCCT

key removed what for?

that key belongs to starforce, not to the game itself, its the same on all Copys ;)

skite2001 27-04-2005 10:05

yep, that`s right! the mini-image doesn't work...and also this stupid registry "backdoor"...nothing works! stupid starforce!

ace11 27-04-2005 10:31

:(

not working !!

Crenim 27-04-2005 13:28

Yeah... I know... it's sad too.

I check every day hoping someone will resolve this so I can get on with my multiplayer through hamachi.

Keep trying guys

dvdwildsau 27-04-2005 14:10

perhaps the new(Comming  ) release of deamon tools can mount those images

goddamn 28-04-2005 09:15

So for now, if I want to play without the DVD in my drive, I have to stick to the buggy 1.0 version of the game?

Goddamn StarForce!

Why aren't more games using it though?

Croaticus 28-04-2005 13:05

Greetings from: Eindhoven, The Netherlands

There's something wrong with the procedure described in .txt file.
First of all, the procedure is not well described and leaves some important questions open. Second, the procedure says in step 2: "Run Silent Hunter 3, holding the Ctrl button, the screen will ask you for the CD-Key". When exactly to do this? Before Starforce is installed, or after? Before mounting an image, or after? With pirate DVD in drive or not? Because, this DOES NOT WORK until you mount the image, you can't enter the key unless the image is mounted first, and the step is before the step that says to mount an image... how is it possible?? It is simply impossible to follow the steps as they are. So, this step doesn't work until I mount the image, because the game says to insert the disc and doesn't even ask the key, with CTRL or without it.
So I had to mount the image. I did it with Daemon tools 3.47.
Only AFTER that I could start the game while holding the CTRL button. The Starforce dialog opened asking the key. The key was already there, the one merged into registry earlier. I erased it and entered the one in .txt file. It displays some error message, I exit, and then start the game again. Again, error - saying "Failed locating the product authorization information in the system registry. Verify the Disc Key entered or press the "Information" button to obtain a new Activation Key.".
Then I tried again, but this time I left the key that was merged into registry.
This time error said "Insert the Silent Hunter III PC DVD disc into another drive then press "Retry".".
So, obviously, this procedure doesn't work, at least on my computer...

I believe this system of fooling the Starforce should work, but all procedures that I've found on Internet are not describing it clearly. Can you please clarif y the exact steps so we can retry and hopefully, finally, start the game?

Thank you and thanks for the effort!

Yes I have. I wonder if everyone else who talks about warez, serials, etc. has? Because, this whole thread is about it...
Or maybe should we use imagined synonyms? Let's call warez "smileys", serials "heal-alls", etc.?
See my point? Don't mind me, please, after all, we're all here to help each other ;)

Sincerely,
me

No this whole thread aint about warez, its about how to help people with the originals to be able to play a backup they made or play without a cd.

There is no support here for warez issues.

I am sorry then, I expressed incorrectly.
What I meant to say is that I have a problem with original that I backed up (you can never know when you might want to use it), thus I'm seeking for help here.

Thank you for understanding.
