Hello!!! Wouldn't it be good if u could flash yr Version 1 PS3 to be a version 5 PS3 etc....U get the idea...

I demand acknowledgement!! :D

P.S Yep, I know I double posted. Sry but am a bit ****ers as I type an brain becoming fuzzy :) . Bighap/tyler, please knock one off my posting no.!!

Otto.... your a little frisky today.... did you have to many beers tonight! Anyway we will probably never see a feature like you are suggesting because Sony would think that the flash feature could be exploited by the hacking scene to bypass their copyright protection and unsigned code and all that blah blah....

Nice idea though.

Regarding to the Blue Disc Situation, I believe I heard about it while back from $ony's mouth that they're using it for PS3..Also I did hear that it was PS1-2 backwards compatible..
Blue Laser Burner will be out for sale sometime soon so you can bet that in X amount of time All of us should be able to back up the games at ease..
Only thing I did hear was Like Xbox games you cannot insert the Disc right into the Disc drive make image and copy..So assuming that Copy protection has to be circumvented..But once again Anything Human Made,Human Broken I say..
HD Idea would be interersting, $ony should take the Idea from M$ and save themselves from selling Memory Card's..But We're talking about $ony here so all of us will end up purchasing memory cards..
Last Like I did with the current PS2(V10) I will not be Purchasing on Day 1 nor till price drops and waiting till at least 2-3 Versions later so that I don't have to worry about breaking down easily..I had so many of my friends who purchased PS2 V1-V4 that broke down after so many months that they ended it up buying Xboxes(which they're fairly more than happy with since The Xbox Modchip scene came around)..
My .02 Cents here..

PlayStation 3 to use Blu-Ray disc been confirmed: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/08...s_6104095.html

Interesting article there Freefighter! ;)

I wonder if they will be able to incorporate the ability to play current DVD's and PS2 games. That remains to be seen. I sure hope so.

well, bluray uses a blue laser which while having a shorter wavelength, is still capable of reading cds and dvds so there is no reason why not. Also opens up possibilities of Bluray to dvd rips of ps3 games. :D

Interesting. Bluray rips onto one or more Dual Layered DVD's.

Your ideas are all exellent and Im not gonna repeat them so here are mine:

- drivers to enhance its graphics d/loadable form the net or built-into games... PS3 driver utility v.1 , 2, 3 etc

- A cooler console desing. Current ps2 desing suck... It would have this silver finish like stainless stell and some really bright bluish leds... something like the japanese version DVD playing Gamecube! That console remains to be my favorite console desing ever...

- A more confortable, fighting game friendly D-pad. Current Dpad make my thumbs hurt playing fast versus games like Third Strike and Guilty Gear. Saturn controller and classic 6 button array is just beautiful. :p

- No ugly opening tray that will get broken easly, give me the push disk option found on car radios

*WARNING! really STUPID IDEAs AHEAD!*

- The controller would have light on buttons like Simon and that particular game built in the console a la Snail Maze game built into the Sega Master System.

- A car lighter adapter made by Sony when you want to play PS3 on the road! (the console would connect to the GPS screen using radio signals)

- Voice regonizion. This would ensure that no one play your PS3 without your permission!

- backup compatibility out of the box

- an option in wich you can see the remaining life of the lens. Its start in 100% then goes to 99%, 98%. when it reaches 0% a message will appear telling you that the lens will no longer work and that you need part number XXX and then it will give step by step instruccions in how to disassemble you console and change the old lens.

Actually this idea would save Sony money and hassle in units that they know is a busted lens and the team in chage of changing lenses (a division in Sony) would no longer be needed.

- Proteccion for games scoring less than 5 consisting of message displaying *This game has scored less that 5 in Gamerankings.com. The game cannot run. If problem persist please contact Sony Game Quality Deparment inmedietly*

- Ability to run PS1, PS2, PSP, Gamecube and Xbox games out of the box

- a 9 1/2 month warranty. (The expected time that the lens will work properly)

hmmm... some are really stupid but Im gonna post them anyways...

Very interesting idea's. I personally like the radio push a disc in one.

Who cares if some ideas are dumb. The best ideas are sparked off the insperation of dumb ones.

Better idea..... how about Sony actually spends some money/time and researches a very high quality laser that will last for years to come. Also I highly doubt that many people would have the technical know how, even with on screen instructions (which by the way how would you use these while disassembling the PS3) to actually do something like your suggestion. Also Sony I’m sure would rather get the cash to repair your worn out, out of warranty unit any way, so instructions on “how to do it yourself” will never happen. Just like with the mod scene, they don’t want people opening OUR units and mucking around in there.

Thats right... But maybe something like a little lid that when opened it gives you access to the lens like ink cartridges! You pull the old one out and thats it! Actually This could be good because third partys could develop better lenses that work equal or better than the original one!
But still could repesent on game-specific incompatibilities... hmmm...

hmm... bah... it wont happen anyway so
