well it works for me, just do exacly what it says in the nfo file.

enfuse009 01-12-2002 21:24

I followed the .nfo's directions. I installed the retail patch1.2 , was I suppose to install a Cracked version of the retail patch?

CASM 01-12-2002 21:28

no you install the retail patch then u move the 2 exe files to the main folder and the 2 other ones to attlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942 and the gamespy.dll to the multiplayer server one and it should work.

BATTLEFIELD.1942.PATCH.1.2.CRACKED-iMSDOX

Mysterious 02-12-2002 20:10

crashes

whats with this crack? I followed the nfo dropping the mod file where it says, the other multiplayer file where it says and dropping the exe & org in the base folder and i had installed the latest patch butthe damn thing keeps crashing.

The farthest I can get it multiplayer where u list all games.... I select a game, click join, and the splash screen with the soldier pops up but it just hangs there. The slider load bar does not even come up. Ideas anyone????????????? Anyone else get that??????

Your firewall is probably popping up with a message like "allow bf1942 to act as a server/access the internet ? Yes/No", especially zonealarm does this. You also get a popup asking this whenever the executable is changed, like when you use a nocd. This popup is NOT visible in bf1942, a lot of games let the popup come over but in bf1942 it'll seem like the system has crashed, you can't even switch back. Only solution is adding bf1942.exe manually to the list of programs in zonealarm and setting its settings to allow all BEFORE you start bf1942. You can easily test if your firewall is popping up a message by disabling it before launching bf1942.

Yah, I figured ZoneAlarm could be it so I shut it off, connected, loaded bf1942 and tried connerting.....same damn thing.....the soldier splash screen comes up and it just sits there.....no load bar or anything....no action on the harddrive.....can't crtl+alt+del.....just frozen

Yeah I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the 1.2 Crack, It doesn't work on my computer (doesn't even start up) but works fine on another, crappier computer. I just can't figure out whats wrong.....

daadoctor 03-12-2002 10:28

YEAH the crack doesnt work for me either

I followed the directions perfectly, and as soon as I launch the game it crashes... Theres a log file thats in the mod/bf? directory that says my DirectX drivers are outdated, which is crazy, cause there the lastest and greatest...
I can run the original exe with my CD and it works
fine.

So whats up !!!!

I did install the lastest Detenator 41.03 Nvidea
drivers, could that be messing me up.

Someone please help all of us that cant get this going.

Well, I can only say that when my firewall messes up, I also get blocked at the soldier screen, without any progress bar appearing and it looks like it crashed, though it didn't. I'm using a clonecd image of the original mounted with daemon tools, I'm going to try the crack later on and see if it works. In the meantime, a good tip is completely reinstalling from scratch and applying the 1.2 patch, then adding the crack. I had to reinstall even though I didn't use ANY crack nor ANY mod. I had the weirdest problems after applying the 1.2 patch, a reinstall fixed everything. Also take care that you use the correct official patch, EA messed up and uploaded a beta patch initially, the beta patch was up on 3dgamers for quite a few hours, I initially had the wrong one too.

The bad patch has the following characteristics : name:"bf1942_v1.2_full.exe", size:22,955,046 bytes.
The correct patch has the following characteristics : name:"battlefield_1942_v1.2_full.exe", size:22,956,029 bytes.

Make sure you're using the correct patch, and if you have the bad one, redownload it, it was fixed on 3dgamers and all other mirrors.

Not wise to install DX9 BETA on your computer...... Should have stuck with DX8.1b or that DX8.2 that is now doing the rounds on some retail releases.
