plz help me to compresion The Witcher WH to DVD5 THX |

I understand the concept you gave there, but I still have a point I would like to learn: Taking that example of Max Payne (35gb folder, BD50 target - hence no spliting/merging), what would be the difference (pros & cons) of using 30% or 100%? Kind regards and thanks once again for your time! |
easiest way of thinking if you use 100 threshold you need twice the space of the game for compression/decompression. Setting threshold to 30 doesn't require twice the game size, completes in much faster time, thus reinstalling from conversion will not take twice as long, no need to swap out more dvd's when installing, the archives are split better & don't require as much merging as happens when you use threshold 100.
IF your burning onto BD50 then as long as the entire game will fit onto 1 media then use 100. |
Thanks for your answer Pakrat.
I do get the benefits from using 30 over 100 when split/merge does take place, what I still don't get is the benefit/drawback (if there is any) from using 100 over 30 when split/merge does not take place. Cheers!!! |
the drawback from using 100 is that it takes twice the space & the files are split more
that means when installing, that the files have to be re-combined before they can be extracted, which again takes more space & time. |
Yes, you do benefit when you use 100 percent.
Firstly if there are no splits, compression and decompression time is less, the final size might be better because of solid compression and srep, there are more chances of finding similarities in data when compressing all files at once(100 threshold). |
Thanks Razor, that was the missing part in my head.
From now on I'll stick to the following criteria: * 30% when split/merge is present (final size bigger than burning media) * 100% when split/merge is not present (final size smaller than burning media) Cheers! |

Is there a way that could be used Srep64 in UltraARC.
The Evil Within Complete Edition Srep64 can be made only through the 4DVD Sorry I did not know English well. |
Really? I thought srep and srep64 does produce same results, only the time for compression is less for srep64 than srep. Anyways, whatever makes you feel better, replace srep.exe with srep64.exe.

To use srep64
You do not need to edit arc.ini? |

Also make sure srep64's version is 3.91 beta or better. -m5f is not available in all srep versions, some have -m3f as the maximum.

that which is marked with a black rectangle, or the files in the folder win
