We cannot be cautious enough; just to be on the safe side, we consider warez anything that you don't have the original physical media for. Whether or not that is also considered warez in "the real world" doesn't matter because these are the rules on this forum. Period.

Okay first there are some countries like Thailand, China, Vietnam, etc etc where publishers sell LEGIT GAMES MOVIES ETC for a MUCH cheaper price than in richer countries
LOL, I once bought the movie Terminator 3 online from a 'shop' in China. Guess what was delivered? A 'Cam' version of the movie!! The Cover of the DVD and the pic on the DVD disc looked real enough but it was a cam version of the movie! A guy even walked past the camera (his shadow was on the movie screen).

I think some ppl in this forum get a little IRRATIONAL about the whole subject
I think some ppl visiting this forum have no idea what they are on about! ;)

Like Joe said, 'we' at fileforums class warez as not having the original disc!

I love ignorance... dont u?

Simply put man there is no KEY GENERATOR that could generate a valid key for games like Battlefield, STEAM games, MMORPGs that need subscription etc

THATS A FACT

When u BUY THE GAME ur buying the license it doesnt matter what u tell the vendor to do with the box UR PAYING FOR THE GAME TO A LEGIT SOURCE

IN FACT THE ONLY WAY TO PROBE THE AUTHENCITY OF YOUR GAME IS THE CD KEY

When u talk about online games the only thing that really matters is the cd key, u can have the cds but if u lost the manual with the cd key sticker ur screwed

Simple...

And in the case of battlefield 2142 is even worst because in order to play U GOTTA HAVE AN EA ACCOUNT registered with a VALID CD KEY so if the guy HAS THAT it means HE PAID FOR THE GAME so yes instead of being irrations get your facts straight

And another thing for your information i have bought like this from American shops AND FROM AUSTRALIAN SHOPS yep i used to buy the prepaid codes for world of warcraft from an australian shop...

@Joe Forster Thats being irrational, is like saying yeah the truth is this and the reality is this but we will keep doing it the wrong way and calling EVERYTHING warez...

@Moderators dont lose your time banning me or whatever i wont be back i hate the ridiculous witch hunting in this forum and the exagerated moderation u guys gotta take a relax pill really

Bl1nd 19-11-2007 15:02

Ahhhh and just to inform u a little about battle against piracy

Lower prices

Analysts in South East Asia feel that manufacturers themselves must also take action to help stop piracy by introducing more sensible pricing policies.

This is something the makers and distributors of computer games in Thailand have realised.

In the past few months, as a result in the growth in the sales of pirated versions, they have begun to reduce their retail prices.

Many computer games are now selling at half the original price, making them now only marginally more expensive than the pirated versions.

The sales of genuine copies of computer games, which come complete with operating manuals, after-sales support and attractive packaging, have begun to rise substantially.
Crysis for example costs 21$ in Thailand... GENUINE

Even Microsoft released a cheaper version of XP for those countries...

BarryB 19-11-2007 15:58

If you don't have the genuine game media AND a genuine CD Key for a game (if it needs one) then you DO NOT have a legal game by our rules!

Joe Forster/STA 19-11-2007 16:15

@Bl1nd:

1. Many games can have their keys generated by software that usually comes with the warez release. Perfectly genuine and distinct (nowhere else to be found) keys may turn out to be illegal.

2. If you don't have the original physical media for the game, for a test, how would you install it and run it to see if it works at all with your PC? Or, horribile dictu, take it back to the shop where you bought it if the game turns out to be buggy and/or is incompatible with your PC? On the hand, if that was a "digital download" game, there's no pysical media to get broken so you don't need our help anyway.

So you made no point, after all.

SlayerOfKings 20-11-2007 01:53

As the above posted has already said, 100% legal copies of games are sold at heavily discounted prices in markets that are saturated by pirated copies.

Shops based in those countries then resell the cd keys online to us westerners, who get a legitimate key at a bargain price.

For example 100% legit versions of Battlefield 2142 (the game this thread is all about!) can be purchased here: http://www.**********.com/product_in...roducts_id/293
For USD$26, about 1/3 of the retail price of the game here in New Zealand. It's basically just parallel importing which has gone on for years, but instead of exporting the physical game they are sending you a scan of the cd-key then destroying it.

And yes many games can have Keygens, but pretty much none of those games can be played online. Can you keygen Everquest? World of Warcraft etc for online play? No, you cannot. Same with 2142, because to play online you have to authenticate to EA if the CD-Key is dodgy they will reject it, or ban the account.

As for trying games before you buy a CD Key, there are many possible options.. Try at a friends, try at a cybercafe, or just plain pirate the game (obviously doesnt work for online games like 2142, you could only play single player vs bots.. very very boring lol)

It may be against your rules, and I can understand with the hordes of noobs I'm sure flood these forums, but the OP's point, and mine are very much that you can have a 100% legal version of a game without having the physical media.

Man that was a huge post for a first post lol.

Edit: Domain for that link is **********, I belive posting this is informative under section 12 of your rules, I dont own, work for, have anything to do with or have ever brought form that site, etc it was just a good example of what I was talking about.

Mmm so rules are like stone written? or are they made according the situation and the evolution of situations?

Ill try not to laught at the last sentence hhahahahahahahahaha

U read the stuff u write before u hit submit post?

Your forum rules dont define if somebody has a legal game or not.. there is some pretty clear guidelines on whats legal or not... and there is not a law on any COUNTRY in the WORLD that prohibits telling a seller to throw out the game box and manuals and just send u a code

I know u guys dont allow all the warez talking because u want to avoid legal problems with any of the publishers but not for that reason u gotta be all irrational calling everything OMG OMG WAREZ WAREZ !!!

U guys are moderators not robots that act without any reasoning...

PD: U may wonder whats the reason of my ranting is because ur calling this warez and it isnt, the thing is u guys live in countries where u can easily buy games in retail stores some of us live in countries where u cant find games in retail stores so u gotta buy games online and we do this to save some money on shipping fees (A lot of money if u buy from a guy in Asia)

TippeX 20-11-2007 03:23

bl1nd - you're going seriously off topic, the rules are rules, simple as that, if you dont agree with them, simply dont come back....

pushing your luck only goes so far, i suggest you calm down, take off your blindfold / blinkers and open your eyes...

Joe Forster/STA 20-11-2007 05:25

@Bl1nd: Excuse me for my ignorance if I say I don't give a shit about the opinion of a person who has had less than a dozen posts on this forum. You might be a lurker, though... but I assume not because you obviously know very little about how this forum works.

The forum rules evolved for several years, upon suggestions from several (senior!) forum members. (See the history at the bottom of the forum rules post.) As for you not agreeing with them, well, we can live with that. As Asian resellers are doing fishy business - most are downright illegal and only a few are legal (if they are legal at all, selling games and/or CD-keys/serials at a fraction of the original price; does the publisher know about that?!) - we cannot and will not waste time on finding out whether a particular person's particular copy is legal or not. (Remember that you can buy very legal-looking copies of software on flea markets, too! These are the "commercial" pirates that the industry should really be looking after, not "casual" pirates, people who borrow/lend games from/to the neighbor.)

As cracks are still a grey area from the law's point of view, GameCopyWorld and this forum is dancing on the edge of the razor. Therefore, the the forum rules have to not only protect forum users from abuse of other forum users but also the site and the forum itself from abuse of gaming companies. This is the ultimate reason for the very strict forum rules.

If you have reasonable suggestions for changes, contact me; otherwise obey the current set of rules. This discussion is not only off-topic in this thread but also very close to discussing actual warez; if it continues, the thread will be closed.

(Anyone noted that neither I nor the forum rules say that you're not allowed to USE warez, only not allowed to DISCUSS warez?)

I would think selling just a CD KEY is against the EULA of the game anyway!

SlayerOfKings 20-11-2007 22:31

Just to get the topic back on track, someone post a working mini image:eek:

Hope dies last, but don't you think we would have seen a MI by Poseden & Co if it would be doable ? BF2142 uses similar ISO check sheme as e.g. Call of Duty 4 or Gears of War for which we won't see MIs, too. So this thread can be closed anyway.

Yep I agree. ;)

Just to refrain...........There is NOT and NEVER will be a Mini Image for Battlefield 2142.

And the NoCD Crack you had been previously using NO LONGER WORKS with the newest update. ;)
