@typnhp: There are lots of other programs like Anti-Blaxx: SR7.Stop, Virtual CD Hide. See the "CD/DVD Hide Utilities" section at http://cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_8.shtml .

this is a known issue. people who actually own the game on cd have the error as well. it's to do with safedisc protection. There is a huge topic on the official si games forums here: Si games Memory Crash Bug

SI games are fixing it...:

i followed Swoosh3k method and it works. that's after i patched the game. just try. change the compatibility to "NT SP5 and above" given that the CD image is already in your virtual drive.

That's good news. So I just install the patch and then change the compatibility into 'Windows NT Service Pack 5' and it works? I already have a virtual FM2006-drive made with Daemon Tools.

but, do you still need the image made with alcohol 120%?

I cannot start FM06... i have downloaded the file. mount it with Deamon Tools. started the icon on desktop and it says: You have no CD in drive.. why ?

BrOwen 28-10-2005 11:21

hello. My problem started kinda odd. I downloaded FM-2006, 700 MB image file, using torrent. burnt it on a CD, then installed game from CD, not image. then I installed patch, v6.0.1. Then run the game, started new game, added 2 managers, after all done, saved it, then exited. I've done these without using any virtual drive utility and/or hide utility, such as sd4, anti-blaxx, etc. I had to save and exit the game then, cause I didnt have time to play it.

But, 2 days later, today, I wanted to play it, and tried to run it, but it gave me correct cd error!!! How could this be? Then, I created mini image using alcohol 120%, mount it using daemon tools, used sd4 but same thing, game doesnt run!!! used anti-blaxx. no way. what do you recommend?

Best regards

I've uploaded a PDF to GameCopyWorld of step by step instructions how to get Football Manager working with no CD. I've tried to make it very straight forward. Hopefully they'll publish it on their website soon :)

Have a look here what is required.

Hello again. I finally make the game run. Problem is, mini-image doesnt work.

Load full image using Daemon tools, and run SD4, click "hide", wait few secs. Then run the game. it runs without any problem. Tried lots of times to be sure.

Btw, you dont have to enable "emulation" on Daemon tools.
You dont have to change compatibility to NT. No need. At least not on XP-Pro-SP2.

but I need to know something. if any friend knows how to make a proper mini-image using alcohol or any other software, please tell me? I tried it according to guide which was given in this topic, but, as I said, didnt work.

Regards
