should... only thing that MAY change is gamesize ( setup.ini ). Otherwise conversion uses installed game files so try it out & report back if it works.

thank you. So no need change of regkey or something like that? Just install update and make conversion?

yes, i did but same thing please help ?!!

senseman 24-02-2013 03:28

i downloaded and extract it's OK....use latest winrar or 7zip etc

The-revenge 24-02-2013 07:37

For internal compression it's need to run only instalscript or both installscript and langscript? And what is the modify to make in langscript?

pakrat2k2 24-02-2013 08:04

none, never modify langscript, just run it to make autorun.exe.
the changes are in setup.ini you need the extractfiles section ( listed in tutorial topic )

akarikk 25-02-2013 14:46

Hi, i just have a question about the one of the external compression, works whit update 2 and dlc?, cuz many times using this method some files are left out cuz they use lists to do it but i want to do it this time cuz the compression is better

pakrat2k2 25-02-2013 16:07

look at the data lists that the batch file uses & see if your files are included.

The-revenge 26-02-2013 00:19

I make the conversion with update 2, no problem yet.
The gamefolder size are the same for update 2 and update 1, so i think there are only e replaced files (for bugfix)

1. What your system configuration? Maybe that you don't have the necessary
requirement for SREP compression.

2. Don't put the conversion in the game directory.

By the way, you can use the DMC_InternalCompression_v1.0.

"requirement for SREP compression"
I do not understand, could you please explain to me what it's requirements for SREP compression :(

pakrat2k2 02-03-2013 20:43

if you use vista/win7/win8, you must right-click compress.bat & run as administrator.

also did you input your installed game folder correctly, at start of batch file, where it asks for the path?

i use Win8

"you must right-click compress.bat & run as administrator." ... DONE

but...????:confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused:

http://i48.tinypic.com/343gith.png

pakrat2k2 05-03-2013 05:15

so when it asks for your game folder you input

c:\Program Files\DMC Devi May Cry ??

Fabioddq 05-03-2013 06:19

Devi

Reloaded error... LOL

Your name folder is wrong! :p

1. Remove your original uninstall files before make the conversion: Unins000.dat and unins000.exe

2. Put in the bat: C:\Program Files\DMC Devi May Cry as said pakrat. ;)

dani_ell 05-03-2013 09:14

works with updates 1 and 2?

I think yes, i not test yet. I'm waiting for Virgin Downfall DLC to test

I have installed main game, update 1 and 2 + Blood Palace Mode.

Test and see if nothing is missing. And post your results. Thanks.

Don't delete! Just move to other place and then back to unisntall your original files.

With internal will not fit on 2xDVD5 if your game have all updates and DLC's. Maybe if you change the Compression to lzma2/ultra64. Open InstallerScript.iss and change.

Details:

1. Install the game, updates and DLC's.

2. Open InstallerScript.iss and change the first line according to your game installation path:

Code:

#define ProgramFiles "C:\Program Files\DMC Devi May Cry"
3. Press Compile and wait...

4. Move to:

DMC_1: Setup-1* files; Setup.exe; Autorun.exe; Setup.cab; Setup.ini;
DMC_2: Setup-2* files;

5. Make ISO's and test before you burn.

Hmm. dani_ell have the same problem. I will analyse. Thanks for feedback.

WaltonSimons 08-03-2013 03:00

Could you provide the internal compression version again? This FreeArc/srep thing is a sick joke, requires three times as much space as the game itself takes for temporary files.

mikey26 08-03-2013 03:22

Hi Fabioddq

is it possible the next version u can do includes the setup.cab in the setup.exe.only if its not to much trouble.great work so far mate much appreciated

Fabioddq 08-03-2013 08:14

@WaltonSimons

Nope. Source is close now. :)

@Mikey26

Yep. I will make integration. ;)

WaltonSimons 08-03-2013 09:27

Thank God I still had Internal version somewhere, just needed to adjust the space required.

The only changes I made were: HDD space (14024 instead of 90something), compression level (from none to lzma2/ultra64), redist placement (so that it's installed from the DVD) and removal of the FreeArc .cab references. All done via modifying Setup.ini. Unfortunately I rushed and removed the conversion files from HDD by now.

All DLC/updates included. The DLC and updates don't require any special treatment. The Internal Compression version just compresses all files in the game folder indiscriminately so what you compress is what you get. I could've put like 10 porn movies for Dante to watch over there and inflate the game by another DVD and the installer wouldn't be the wiser. The game has no registry that matters.

DVD1: 4.36 GB
DVD2: 3.24 GB

These are my results.

HellRazor 10-03-2013 02:25

This is the only issue I can see at this point...
