Hi. When I uninstall the game, it doesn't remove registry and does not delete anything from install folder except uninstall.* files. Is it something I did wrong or is anyone else having this problem.

BTW Peter. Great work as always. Love your conversions.

The issue is related by the presence of files unins000.* in the Data4.bin archive.

Just re-create the Data4.bin and everything is solved :p

:confused::confused:

The Data1.bin contains media.upak and its size is shown above

The command line is correct!

robbos21 25-08-2012 17:05

well done what said to do and no luck. it asks for data1.bin and not in folder ?

Inge 25-08-2012 22:17

Ok, Conversion works. Final Size 4,23 GB. If its too big, after compress, look that only one speech is Installed. :D

Disc contents:

Attachment 3814

The installer expects to find the Datax.bin archives in the root of the disc, if it doesn't find them a disk prompt is shown with disk number and archive name.

The patch adds a dlc contents and its size is around 476 mb,
i didn't test it yet , you re-make conversion and then let me known if it fits. :D

If it doesn't fit for few mb a biks re-sampling needed ;)

mikey26 29-08-2012 07:51

gonna have to resample some biks even with trying to compress the video folder with freearc with 2gb compress still around 10mb to big and also downsize the directx folder with slim version of directx

an_ultim 29-08-2012 16:14

Tried with the new Update 2 [3Gb] of Darksiders2. The final size is 4.4 GB with vids 100%

mikey26 29-08-2012 18:00

try a slim version of directx also try recompress data3.bin with 1gb compression with freearc that what i did and 4.36gb perfect fit on dvd5

an_ultim 29-08-2012 19:29

@mikey26 im new at this so can u give me the command for the recompression or do i have to reduce the bik file?

pakrat2k2 29-08-2012 20:59

dont recompress the bik files, take a look at compress.bat file & notice the commands for bin1 & bin2 ( max:1gb ) add that to line for bin3 and comment out other lines for 1,2,4 bin files & let it recompress just that 1 file. should then fit better...

Command line for Data3.bin (replace it in Compress.bat):

Code:

arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -msrep+lzma:max:1gb -dp"%choice1%\media" -x@Ex_v_upak.lst .\Darksiders2\%arc%

Edit1:

If Data1,Data2, Data4 archives already exist this batch (Compress.bat) will re-create only Data3:

Code:

echo off
:start
cls
set choice1=
set arc=
set retry=
echo.
set /p choice1=Please type game folder path (e.g. c:\Program Files\Darksiders2):
if "%choice1%"=="" goto start
echo.
echo Creating archive files, please wait...
echo.
:Data1
set arc=Data1.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto Data2
arc a -ep -w.\ .\Darksiders2\%arc% -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl99:d1+srep+lzma:max:1gb "%choice1%\media\media.upak"
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data2
set arc=Data2.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto Data3
arc a -ep -w.\ -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl99:d0+srep+lzma:max:1gb -dp"%choice1%\media" .\Darksiders2\%arc% @upak.lst
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data3
set arc=Data3.bin

arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -msrep+lzma:max:1gb -dp"%choice1%\media" -x@Ex_v_upak.lst .\Darksiders2\%arc%
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data4
set arc=Data4.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto end
arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl78,99:d0+srep+exe+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d256m:fb128:mc1000:lc8 -dp"%choice1%" -x@Ex_m.lst .\Darksiders2\%arc%
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:end
echo.All done.
pause
goto EOF
:arcfail
echo.
echo.WARNING: FreeArc returns an error in archive %arc%!
set /p retry=Do you wish to retry [Y/N]:
if /I "%retry%"=="Y" goto %arc:~0,5%
pause
:EOF

Note: if just updated to patch 2, you must re-create all archives not only Data3.bin

Recompressed Data3. Final size 4.40 Gb instead of 4.44 earlier.Installed smoothly.

I used the new 3GB patch may be thats the extra mb?

And finally when i tried to recompress bik file of the intro cutscene there was no speech of the narrator in the new reduced one.Whats the reason?

Show the contents of your media\sounds_streamed\PC folder

The bik videos contains multi audio tracks, the correct procedure is:

1) Re-sampling video without audio tracks

2) Extract all audio tracks from original video

3) Re-muxing audio tracks with same track id with re-sampled video

I tried conversion with update #2 included and I ended up with 4514mb (won't fit). Hoy did you guys manage to put it in only 1xdvd5?

Thanks and kind regards!

Compression in progress... i hope that it fits on dvd5 :D

edit1:

It fits on DVD5 after update 2!!:D

Attachment 3829

There was a bad zlib level & recursion depth (precomp parameters) in Data4.bin archive creation, cause update 2 adds new game files.

Use the Compress.bat below:

Code:

echo off
:start
cls
set choice1=
set arc=
set retry=
echo.
set /p choice1=Please type game folder path (e.g. c:\Program Files\Darksiders2):
if "%choice1%"=="" goto start
echo.
echo Creating archive files, please wait...
echo.
:Data1
set arc=Data1.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto Data2
arc a -ep -w.\ .\Darksiders2\%arc% -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl99:d1+srep+lzma:max:1gb "%choice1%\media\media.upak"
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data2
set arc=Data2.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto Data3
arc a -ep -w.\ -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl99:d0+srep+lzma:max:1gb -dp"%choice1%\media" .\Darksiders2\%arc% @upak.lst
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data3
set arc=Data3.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto Data4
arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -msrep+lzma:max:1gb -dp"%choice1%\media" -x@Ex_v_upak.lst .\Darksiders2\%arc%
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:Data4
set arc=Data4.bin
if exist .\Darksiders2\%arc% goto end
arc a -ep1 -r -w.\ -mprecomp:t-nfj:zl78,99:d0+srep+exe+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d256m:fb128:mc1000:lc8 -dp"%choice1%" -x@Ex_m.lst .\Darksiders2\%arc%
if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto arcfail
:end
echo.All done.
pause
goto EOF

echo.

Code:

Thanks. Totally forgot about that .
Anyhow, one more question...

How come Windows 7 does not fall under minimum requirements in your installer for this game.

Windows 7 SP1 is the minimum requirements.

The installer checks the OSVersion & ServicePackMajor in according of game requirements.
