i mean, the crack protection of drakensang, when it detects that the game is cracked. At time I hang in Fedork and NPC Player issent coming.

the crack seems to work but he believes the game does strange things like in-game npc (none player characters ) are missing or do not response to player ...

i have got the same problem :eek: - my char is waiting for the npc in ferdok amd nothing happens ....
at first i thought this could be a bug and i downloaded the newest patch but it doesn't fixed the thing :mad:

just read the last pages exactly. drakensang detects it, if you are using a crack for the game and at several points you won't be able to go on with the main quest - also all savegames will be affected and messed up and can not be used even using the original exe afterwards.
the publisher mentioned that in official forum. so there are 2 possibilities:

1.) play game with the original disc
or
2.) mount the miniimage via daemon tools and play with original exe !!

First, thanks for the patches. I still haven't installed my drakensang copy but before I want to make sure that I can run it properly.

I knew about the "feature" of Drakensang that it detects a cracked exe and than turns to be unplayable because of vanishing main characters, unopening doors, etc. Very nasty, I'd like to say, even for players that don't use a crack because such problems can always occur in an RPG.
Anyway...

I want to try this and ask if anyone before does.
I think the crack detection is a silent alarm coming from securom. What about removing Securom first using their own tool Securomremoval
and then applying the crack.
Maybe then the silent alarm doesn't ring :cool:

Install the game - Full Installation.
Mount the DRAKENSANG.MDS Mini-Image in DAEMON Tools Lite v4.30.3.
With the v1.1 Patch, use Y.A.S.U v1.6.9040 to avoid blacklisting of DAEMON Tools.
Play the Game!

I hate making noob ass noob questions, but here it goes: I tried several cracks, included those of the sites mentioned here, and I tried the miniimage as well, I still get the same error message: http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/3192/77317848.jpg
I've never seen that message before, nor the little "nebula2 window" window either. I think that both the crack and the miniimage are actually working, but there's something else going on (something to do with Direct 3d apparently) that's preventing me from playing this game. Any help would be apreciated.

Make sure that your video card meets the minimum requirements. Also, make sure you have the very latest DirectX. See download URL's in the PC games forum FAQ.

I do meet the system requirements and the game installs the directX that it needs to run.

Joe is right! That's how an unsupported video card message looks like. If you are trying to play this game on a laptop, don't. It has zero support for laptops. The only supported cards are Nvidia (from 6800 to higher models, but excluding low-ends luch 7100, 7300, 8400 and so on) and ATI (also excludes the low-end models). Also integrated videocards on desktop PC are not supported.
Just post your video card and the system that you are trying to run the game on it. It will help to properly identify the problem.

I don't remember everything about my pc, so I'll provide more details later, what I do remember is: a) not a laptop (pretty sure about this), b) Nvidia Geforce 8500 512 MB with drivers up to date (minimum acording to pcgameshardware.com is Nvidia Geforce 6600, recomended, Geforece 8600), c) dual core processor, dont remeber how much Gigahertz right now... but it's way above the minimum, d) 2 or 3 (really don't remember) Gibyte ram, e) like 160 Gibyte free hard drive space.
All in all, what I'm traying to get across here is that I think that even tho it's not the Enterprise, my pc should still be enough to play this game, not to mention get to open it at least. And about the directX, the game installs the version it needs, I think it's directX 9, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
I guess you're right tho, the problem clearly is that my video card is not supported, I don't really know what a "low end" video card is, but I'm pretty sure no body mentioned it when I bought it (fuckity fuck fuck fuck em' all fuck). Could there be a solution to this other than getting a new card?
One last thing, I tried it in my laptop, knowing that it wouldn't work, just to see if it gave me the same message on both computers, but it didn't, in the laptop I got the good ol' "shader 2.0 minimum required!" that I'm already used to get because of the laptop not really supporting anything heavier than WoW.
