DEP aint the problem, checked it. drivers are up 2 date. gets past 0xC0000005 error when started in compatibility modes but freezes at the logo. if it gets past that, then it freezes at a black screen. game is installed correctly. during installation, though, you have to install a directx that has special files specifically for the game. does that replace the newest direct x (for xp)?

1.5 patch and 1.5 crack. Yes I get that error too a lot. It's superweird, because sometimes the game just starts after a few of those error even though _nothing_ has changed. This is not how computers are supposed to work... :)

I just like try to start it and get the error. Again and error. Then I like start mozilla or whatever and try again and tada G3 starts...?

The newest DirectX at this moment is 9.21 (Nov 2007). See the version number of X3DAUDIO1_2.DLL in the Windows system directory. If you have a previous version, see the forum FAQ for the DirectX download URL.

Hello, a new (I think) problem.
The CP works fine, but when I use the nocd patch, I'm not seeing my savegames anymore :confused:

They are in the right folder, and if I restore the files from the CP, I can load my savegames... I can also use the nocd for the 1.12 official patch and see my saved games, but I lose some advantages of the CP :(

Some ideas??

Use FileMon to see what files the v1.5 crack is trying to access and compare it with how the v1.5 patch or the v1.12 patch/crack accesses files.

Done.

The nocd patch never tries to access the folders on C:\My documents.....

I also see, that both version are searching for a folder SaveGame into the game dir.
If I copy my savegames into this one, that's not better :(

I have to say that I'm using a French install of Win XP.

Ah, found a solution. Dont know why but...
I have to copy ma savegames under the folder gothic3 into my game dir!!
There is also another copy of the useroptions.ini file into this one.

Yes thats well known for quite a time now that you have to copy your savegames etc into the root folder.

does it pop out twice in a row (like mines)? mines hasn't started once yet...

i got X3DAUDIO1_2.DLL, X3DAUDIO1_1.DLL, and X3DAUDIO1_0.DLL.

Because the developers felt like they have 2 do it. God knows why. But if you would have read the release notes you would knew. ;)

Yeah I just have to keep clicking the shortcut, first I'll get the error but eventually the game starts. This is really strange because clicking it again shouldn't change anything on the system. There must be something really weird going on with the cracked exe itself. I only get the 0000005 something error.

for those who didnt get Pakhan crack to work you can try:
-install game
-install official 1.12 patch
-install community 1.5 patch
-copy over the razor crack for version 1.12, wich means you will loose the community changes over the engine.dll and game.dll
-then, from pakhan crack, copy only sapi_lipsync.dll, SharedBase.dll and vcomp.dll
edit: although in other cases i would never recommend mixing up stuff from different versions, in this case, the community fixes remaining work without the ones lost due to using old files (engine.dll, game.dll)

Perhaps someone will create a more elegant crack to the CP 1.5 later. (The game is still incredibly buggy though, even after one YEAR of patching and even with FAN made patches, I still get horrible graphic glitches, ambient sounds are still cracking, during the play the game will stutter more and more and eventually must be restarted, etc. I guess something went really wrong in the design from the get go...)

i suppose, then, that there is no actual solution except for the good ole original CD or a new crack or using the v1.12 crack (which somewhat "nullifies" v1.5). that sucks...

I've the same problem, I can't play in Gothic 3 with patch 1.5. Does the crack 1.5 work with polish wersion of Gothic 3 or I must wait for next crack relese, when would it be?

Ive installed Gothic 3 + the Autumn patch + the official v1.2 patch + the community v1.5 patch + the Gothic 3 community v1.5 PAKHAN.

I installed the game in this order and so far no problems for me, my comp is nothing special.

but i did start with a clean computor free of gothic 3. I used "your uninstaller 2006" to delete the game and all registry entries that the games unistaller leaves behind before i re-installed the game in the above order.

Its worth a try, i hope it helps somone

ive reinstalled the game a few times but i never tried installing the autumn patch or using "your uninstaller 2006" to uninstall the game. v1.5 crack doesn't work for me but the v1.12 crack does.

My cpu Pentium 3.4 with 3 gig ram

I've AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and 2GB RAM and crack 1.5 doesn't work for me so far but crack 1.12 runs perfect with my polish ver. of Gothic 3

It cannot go perfect coz your Community Patch will be screwed up since many, many changes are made in fix-replaced files. I've asked one from CPT. You must use v1.5 crack.

I use Athlon 3200+ and I cannot run the polish version of the game with patch 1.5.

Seems it's a fucked up crack plain and simple!

The v1.5 crack on English version, is working for me.
I have WinXP SP2 on Pentium D 3.0GHz + GeForce 8800GTS.

I use the "test" files too.

Hi guy's great news for Gothic 3, the next community patch "due soon" will disable the copy protection, including all future patches.

The "Gothic 3 v1.5 (Community Patch) [EURO] Fixed Files" has just been updated by PagaN & is available as of now!

...and doesn't seem to work any better...

Why not wait for the next community patch with no protection instead of trying to get the various 1.5 cracks working and failing? It would save a lot of needless posts about the 1.5 crack not working!

As the originator of this thread... i will extend it to an unnecessary 73rd post by stating that the new fix worked for me. no errors or anything of the sort. as for the protectionless new community patch, thats great news.

Well, I will test this new crack too. The first cracked worled well, for me, I'll see how's this one. Already in Montera, and a number of sidequests, that previously didn't appeared as finished(the wolf cave, where Wenzel's sword is, it's also a part of another quest that never appeared to be completed in my journal), now are up and running well. I'd say that community is solving quite a bunch of those pesky bugs(a lot of them were linked with sidequests that you couldn't complete). Waiting with interest the next patch, as some performance optimization it's rumoured to be done.

I will test if 1.5.2 is really protectionless.

I'd say that should do it and the thread should reach its end.
The protetction is removed in the v1.52 and most likely it will stay like that in the upcoming updates of the unnofficial patches.
