A friend buy the game and make me a copy(In fact he paid the midle and i paid the another midle).

RabidWombat 27-10-2007 18:47

So, I was having some of the same issues some people here were (I think), though with a different image, and a sort of weird thing made it work for me - I had just installed DT pro, but still had the old non-pro version installed as well. After much annoyance, just for fun I tried uninstalling the old DT and hurrah, it worked. People having problems with this might want to try that.

tbaher 27-10-2007 18:52

Generally it is illegal to have 2 copies of the game running at the same time from the same license (1 purchase = 1 license) See the EULA for details.
This is why copy protection exists.

Try to see if the game runs with the original disk. Maybe the problem isn't related to the mini image. If it does run with the original disk, use the original disk.

are the EULA police going to kick in his door and vaporize his burnt cd?

tbaher 27-10-2007 20:38

EULA stands for end user license agreement.

When you buy software, you don't actually buy the software. You are buying a copy and license to use it. Making a copy of software is illegal under current stupid copyright laws. To use a copyrighted work you must have a license (or a defence such as "fair use"). The EULA is that license. Violate it and your license is void. So yes, the copyright infringement police (international law .. stupid I know) will "kick the door down". In the meantime the forum police will ban him.

Yes copyright law is stupid but it is the law. Thank you for playing.

targetlocked 27-10-2007 21:09

couldn't he just say he made a 'backup' copy when he first bought it because the disc could possibly get scratched or become worn out from being force to stick it in our cd/dvd drives everytime we choose to play?
That's what I would say, it's happened to me several times, not so much being worn out but accidentally dropped, then stepped on and broken.

tbaher 27-10-2007 21:19

Yes he could have. But he already said he split it with his friend in a plan for them to both play (one has the original and one has backup copy)

Like I said, read the EULA. Sometimes just the act of making a copy of the software violates the license terms. I agree that you should be allowed to make a backup copy for yourself to prevent scratching.
If publishers agreed with this they wouldn't make copy-protection in the form of "please insert original disk".

If you don't like the law/rules you have free will. Break it, get banned/arressted. Or you could simply refuse to buy games that have horrible copy protection.

Let us continue this discussion in the off-topic board.

We have rules here which MUST be obeyed!
You say you hate this game, and we hate those who dont read and respect our forum rules! You have now been banned from using this forum!

Guys,

I've got a different problem. When I mount mini image to (mdS) daemon 4.10 pro advanced my windows is freezeing. I can't do anything. When (mdf) is mounted it shows in label "unknown" but game will not going to run. I don't understand why. It works fine with original dvd insterted. Any idea why ?

PS.
I'm using IDE drive not SCSI.

Regards,
maxim

bonzay0 28-10-2007 01:36

i got the game and i used a copy guss what!
i mounted the mini-image with IDE (daemon tools pro advanced 4.10)
and click on start game and vwalla game is working!!!!!!
the opening vedio is COOL you should not skip it!
have fun guys! use daemon tools pro advanced 4.10 or wait for crack or the easyest way: use original!

maxim12345 28-10-2007 01:36

I think I know what is the problem.

Raid is not working with DT 4.10 properly.

RMPS emulation is only needed for (surprise :)) RMPS-copies burnt with Alcohol 120%

Here is the only case mentioned where emulation may be needed for a mounted image, namely old Securom subchannel emulation for cooked images.

U dont need waiting for a crack if u want to play with latest patch, just do this:

Posted by ColdBlue from newtorrenst

Quote:

Ok i managed to make this game working with Patch 1.1

All u have to do is:

-1- apply 1.1 Patch (backup savegames if u want)
-1- go to gamecopyworld.com, and dowload their CD image NetShow-TW_SS
-2- download Daemon Tools Pro Advanced Edition V. 4.10.0218 from here
-3- apply all 4 images in Virtual IDE CD in fallowing order (set all emulation on <green SafeDisc, SecuRom etc..)

a) NS-TW_SS-poseden.mdf
b ) NS-TW_SS-poseden.mds

then

c) ptn-twit.mdf
d) ptn-twit.mds

it should be like this > http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?i...6475108za9.jpg

-4- double click TheWitcher in Virtual CD/DVD Devices, then choose ptn-twit.mds
-5- lounch game.

Maybe its simplier way to get this to work, but this is working for me. Im using XP 32 bit proffesional, dont know about other platforms, sorry.
And its working for me.

Blazkowicz 28-10-2007 05:12

@Mindray

You should buy the game as you are using ptn-twit.mdf which is the Platinum scene release.

Yeah thats what I made the image from :P

I dont like DT's way of making one.

So that would explain that then hehehe

Sorry for my lack of understanding (and writing ;)) english: You say you've created image with Alcohol and burned a RMPS-copy to DVD9 ?

armacham 28-10-2007 08:32

Why do people keep incriminating themselves in this thread? You can get your message across without mentioning warez.

There is no need to have two images mounted, the mini image from gamecopyworld and a virtual IDE drive in DT4.1 (pay version) is all you need. If it isnt working try redownloading the mini image, reinstalling the game, and making sure you are in fact making a virtual IDE drive. Test the virtual IDE drive you create with something else as well.

I dont think it even matters, but I dont use DT tray icon since I didnt want/need to install it. Try adding an IDE drive through DTPro.exe in the directroy you installed Daemon Tools to. You'll need to right-click at the bottom of the program where the default virtual SCSI drive is, and add an IDE drive.

Another thing that shouldnt matter: I use all emulation options except hide cd-r, they should only apply to physical media though like mentioned earlier. Any other problems are beyond my meager understanding.

I asked because Alcohol isn't capable of creating working Tages images. DT PRO's DPM for Tages is not the same as Alcohol's DPM (for Securom/Starforce/DVD Cops)

bonzay0 28-10-2007 14:50

i used DT4.1 (pay ver) i created a IDE virtual drive
and mounted with it the image
and vwalla i can play the game without DVD!!!
those who cant buy/download the DT4.1 wait for crack
or use the original disk to play!

Would you please stop posting nonsense, it only gets worse :(

First the unneeded emulations, then Alcohol creating working Tages images, and finally normal devices reading DVDs in RAW mode using Alcohol 120%

---------------> In my DTP 4.10 the maximum number of IDE Devices is 2, there is a way to increase it?

Yesterday I have mounted my .mds image in the IDE device and i have played for 1/2 hours. Today launch the game and... nothing

Blazkowicz 29-10-2007 12:09

You should buy the game. Same for Daemon Tools Pro.

Posting nonsense?

Just because you love the DT team doesnt mean you infinitely knowledgeable about things.

There is many ways you can use A 120% from its usual standpoint, and many little additions that can be added to it to make life much much easier.

Is it ok with you if I, thats ME, dont like sticking the DVD in EVERYTIME I want to play? Did you know there are thousand of US thats people like ME that DONT like sticking the DVD in everytime just to play games. We ALL do something so unless you want the finger pointing back at you try thinking the glass is half full . What just cracks me up is I look up and see "CloneCD/DVD, BlindWrite, 1click DVD copy, AnyDVD, DAEMON tools, CurROM, Pr0T.ST0p, SD4 Hider/Blocker".

Zulu 29-10-2007 15:03

Sorry for being that outspoken, but it's obvious you have no clue of Tages' functionality (e.g. what -if possible- should be the benefit of a Tages DVD image read RAW ?)

Think about it, what is the benefits of reading RAW? Remember Amiga's and Blitz cables? Same idea in a way.

Tages is a good protection, but not that good, even that 1mb of secure 4kb each content around Track 4, not all of the time, but it is mostly track 4 they have a digital signature, or "organically", as they call it, encoded to work alongside the software.

Ive not met a piece of software that can totally burn a TAGES image successfully, but then again I didnt say I did burn it did I.

But then again your German and you lot always assuming too much. Its what gets you into trouble all the time, and you will believe everything thats told to you, and when someone does something different from what was taught to you its "OMG your wrong your wrong! Achtung Achtung!"

Settle down, I rembember you were jumping up and down about Freeman making racist comments towards Pakistani's, now you are having a go at the Germans.
Both, just agree to disagree and get on with it. ;)

Zulu 30-10-2007 12:24

Should have read some other posts of yours before judging you a troll. Looks like the first impression i got in this thread was wrong ...though i'm no native german.
Sorry for that.

Do you agree, that some of your standard formulations are kind of vague so that average users like me could be unintentionally mislead ?

DABhand 30-10-2007 12:33

Yes that is true Zulu that can happen.

@Grumpy if I was racist I would have been calling you a Nazi for the last few years but I havent.

Its a fact about Germans unfortunately, they trust easily to start with then become stubborn on something they have been told.

Been like that the last 400 years in Germany/Holy Roman Empire. :P

So no I wasnt racist :D
