this exe is the one from the demo right ??? now i got full game with demo exe wtf !??!?!?!

the game starts with a mission ???? no intro no base or something ???

actually the trick with the cab file worked..altough its a small hassle...its ok...with the demo .exe turns out i get all sorts of graphic artifacts errors or whatever..its messed up the screen...so i guess ill just play with original disc til crack comes out...thnx though for the uploading of the exe file "GabriellTheArchangel"...it was worth a try..

It is only a small hassle because you only seem to have to do it once per computer reset.

Have discovered one tiny problem though....For some reason it likes to crash whenever it tries to load a certain mission. Always complaining about the mod_gamedata_scenes_2.vfs file and a file within it. Same file everytime. I tried the repair utility on the setup but it never seems to fix it. Anyone know a way to take apart the vfs files? And with a working "mine_01_save_0.bin" from it? :(

Just a quick note, the burning method is essentially the same as the copy method. If copying doesn't work, chances are you have a faster hard-drive/mo-bo. Sometimes it doesn't work with me, but I also notice people complaining it doesn't work after restarts, because your computer has much free'd up cpu slices.

btw about the demo exe...it works now for some strange reason but all the time during the game it quits to the main menu telling you that its a limited demo etc etc...so u have to save a lot! :)

Tired the demo plan, it wouldnt let me continue a game, which is bit of a problem. And for anyone who didnt know, when you hit "new game" its meant to start in tactical mode. (Meant to free the scientists).
Finding the image making fairly successful, other then that file error. Which only occurs if I defend a territory, so I cnt defend it....Annoying!

Update your DT4.08 SPTD driver at the latest version. It works fine with poseden mini-maxi image. Also you need the latest version of YASU(1.07)

P.S.:for some people, they'll have to try twice. If it says that it couldn't read the disk, hit retry. For me works from the first time, but for a friend of mine he has to hit the retry button, as explained in poseden's image nfo file.

Interesting. The image making tactic really does work, it prevents secuROM detecting the originality of the mount as its being used. Though a medium to fast PC will have enough processing power to do both. I suggest you lag your PC down as it loads up.....Wouldnt work on mine til I did. (aka, Image making, WMplayer, MSN, task manager and even considered a quick virus scan) Everything went slow, but the second the screen goes black, cancel everything and your off!

If you get the error message, hit try again button, once or twice(that seems to vary from a PC to another). For me starts right away, but a friend of mine had that problem and he did as poseden specified in his nfo file(hitting retry 2-3 times). Also you nedd YASU 1.07 active.

Funny thing, I think I read it on EDITED, but I think I can confirm this.
again, I have no proof or record of why or how, or even that this works other than my own experience and one other person I had read.

Install Supreme Commander, and Yasu, + image from original disk will work no problem, every time, no messing around. I don't know why, people can say this is bull, but I'm telling ya...

This is the best thing I've seen yet for this game.

Did you bothered reading the name of the thread? Supreme Commander isn't a issue. A crack is available on this site for the game(you didn't checked even that, though you are posting in the GCW forums).

P.S.: I wasn't aware that a legit copy of Supreme Commander would contain a image and YASU. And the mention of EDITED can only lead to one conclusion: you've downloaded the game and you are in for the banishment award.

I had the same problem till I set the priority for UFO Aftermath to low in Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) ;)

And by UFO Aftermath I obvioulsy mean Afterlight! (doh!)

First off I was talking about Afterlight, secondly, there IS a Supreme Commander Demo available, thirdly, just because I read something somewhere has no bearing on where I obtain my software.

Yes 'fxingworkdamit' did mention a warez site, which is frowned upon here, but that doesnt mean he got the game from there.
I too have visited warez sites to find out how different people go about getting different games to work without needing the disc in the drive.
Some warez forums can actually be quite educational.

Where in the above quote does it say Yasu was on the disc?
If he did download it then he would not have an original disc!
The '+ image' comment can mean "+ create an image of the original disc".
No where does it say the image is on the disc? ;)

I tried all methods mentioned above and only ONE worked for me!

It is: Set priority to Low in the task manager for UFO.EXE
If you do it too soon, you'll get a notice that it's not allowed, immediatly do it again and UFO Afterlight starts.

i used the above methods, but unfortunately i can t seem to get past the #1 problem. I mount the posedon image with daemon tools and activate yasu. But it always says problem with emulation software detected even after yasu says, that all the drives have been hidden.

Its really weird. Any ideas there?

Any emulation options turned on in Daemon Tools? I believe they should all be off. Also, I know this sounds dumb and you probably have it, the newest version of both DT and YASU?

Also maybe any other emulation software should probably be inactive, or at least disabled, again you probably don't have that happening, so I will take a look to see what might be happening to ya.

hi fxing. Thanks for the fast answer. I have yasu 1.07. newest alcohol and daemon tools versions including the driver upgrade. What i just noticed though is, that when i start the game, while it loads the cd rom symbol doesn t appear while it checks. Oh and no, no options in DT are activated.

ummm.... i think the problem is a little bigger than what i expected. I just put in my original to play till you can come up with something :D

No, you just have a software program installed which is conflicting with the protection on the game.
The only way to find out which program is causing the conflict is by uninstalling them one at a time then trying to start the game again by using the original game disc.

Uninstall programs like Alcohol, Daemon, CloneCD, AnyDVD etc. (basically any burning or emulation program.)
You will eventually find the cause. ;)

I only have alcohol and daemon tools on there i think. I ll search around. But if i uninstall those, i won t be able to play ufo without cd. On the other hand, now i m not able to play it at all. Decisions Decisions :D

Uninstalling those things will allow you to play the game first off. So that looks like the only way for you.

Unless you didnt know about the other programs that can help hide Daemon Tools. Read the FAQ.

Thanks for this great method, but for me it did not work everytime. I had to retry it quite often sometimes before the game started. Then I figured, that the timeout for the validation is about one minute.

WHAT I FOUND OUT:
You can delay the check by copying one, two or even three files simultaniously from the mounted image. If I stop the copying after about 50 Seconds it will always (100%) let me in.
Usually I copy two files, stop the first after 50 seconds and the second file after about 55 sec. But that depends on system performance i guess.

My suggestions were only for you to be able to first get the game working using by your original disc to play.

Once you have established that you can again install each program to find out the best method to get the game to work 'without' using the original disc to play.
