I have exactly the same problem as you, with same error log and everything.

Before 1.2 all was OK.

I just patched M2TW to 1.2 last night and applyed the no-cd file. But things are not working properly. When continuing my campaign the game freezed while processing a country and the mouse over info is not working anymore (when you pass the mouse over a skill or trait it would show the bonuses or the cost to buy a unit/improvement). Anyone got these problems? Should I have installed 1.1 first?

Well, they are not easily acessible right now, but I can get then if nothing works.

I posted here because I tought this was a quite weird error. How can the program run seemingly ok (did not tryed any battle and the other error was from a saved game), but loose a mouse over info only at cards. On the campaign map the mouse over info still works.

when m2tw first came out i dowloaded it and it worked fine butit was german so i didnt understand very much, now i've got a newone (english)but evertime i start the game you first see the loading screen for about 2 sec and than the screen turns black and you hear a windows error sound, but you still see your cursor in the blackscreen. maybe think it is a windows security file thats wrong (with cod2 i had nearly the same and if i wanna play it i need to delete windowssecurity kb917422) but i dont know 4 sure

the problem with the freezes is simple.

one of the cracks running around for the game is for version 1.1

someone must have tried to enter the 1.2 version with it and concluded it works, and because of it, it's passed around as a crack for 1.2 on many sites (gamecopyworld, etc.)

it doesn't work. the game freezes after a couple of campaign-map turns.

so, try the other crack, since that one works.

Does the v 1.2 Crack for M2TW work?

Please I would like to know whether one of the cracks for the 1.2 patch (and which one of them) is really working. I have not tried them at all, but i have read comments that one of them has a catastrophic error: you cannot go further than the second turn. Is that true?:confused:

Personally I had only the v1.0 of the game working, but I have applied the patch 1.2 and then the crack (many of them, that i found in many places) but it didn´t work. (M2TW encountered an unspecified error and will now exit:( ). I guess that it was so because i applied the patch to the cracked version of the game. So what i am going to do now is to remove completely the game (including the registry entries) install it and apply the patch to this uncracked version, then i will use a crack for version 1.2. Will it work? In that case, what crack should i apply, or there is no crack available and completely functional now?:rolleyes:

I did what i planned and used the vitality crack and it works great, without problems. I have posted a mini how to in other thread "Medieval Total War 2 Version 1.2 ". Thanx a lot vitality it works perfectly for me.
