I checked up on that file from bart5986.. It is identicle to the Razor1911 v1.01 fixed exe including the coded Razor tags inside the exe. So I don't know how he gets it to work online ???

Well it works on all the official servers online, and thats all that matters.

Is it possible then that Razor's version was based on the EA Downloader exe, rather than cracked from scratch?

Hmmm, I'm more willing to try it now, but I still worry about Punkbuster banning me from servers if this is only an SP crack.

Trust me, its a working crack. Punkbuster hasn't said anything about it and i've played for 7 hours, its fully legit.

Thats pretty lame. People can legitimately download the game. They use EA downloader.

But he don't have the Download-Version. He said he had a DVD that is broken.

I have no problems with PB or something, the rankings are working and so on EVERITHING IS WORKING.

Why you all say that PB will ban you? Show me one EA statement or PB Statement oder Article where they say that you will be banned after some days when you use a cracked exe.

PB is looking for hoocked cheats and not for the original exe. cheats are never in the game file. they are separate as a hook or something.

Actually, a lot of posts on this forum do make you trustworthy, as the deadbeats who steal games or try to pass off trojans as cracks get banned in short order.

Yes, PB doesn't ban you for one offense, but many servers have their own scripts that record that one offense and then put you on their autokick list. The server that some friends of mine administer uses this very type of script, along with a registration script, to keep the smacktards away.

pb allows a certain amount of uses before it detects it.

unless its an actually fixed exe it'll detect it kick you from the bf2142 servers and tll u you have a messed up exe file.


and theres pretty high chances that the ea fownloader exe file wont work with future versions of the dvd version of bf2142.

Virtual CD v8 : Options: Everything set on "Automatic" and "read CD Geometrie". The Image has ending ".vc4". Iso don't work, because you can't read cd geometrie with .iso.

That's it. I was surprised how easy. First try and it works. Alcohol didn't work.
You don't have to disable cd-roms or something like that !!!

I've heard, the programm works with gothic 3, too. I test it later.

Regardless of what you may think of the legalities of decompiling, modifying etc we are all still allowed and entitled to create one working backup of our expensive DVD/CD's.
It is the publishers who force us to use modified files because of their protections.
If they really wanted to play fair they would supply us with 2 copies of the game. Then none of us would have an excuse to use modified files.

We can not stop people from downloading or using warez, what people do is entirely up to them, but we can stop them from talking about it on these forums. Discussing warez is not tolerated on these forums.

Many countries have different laws, I come from a country which allows me to create a backup. Most times I have to use a crack to make that backup work. That in my opinion is the fault of the publishers!

Tried to make a backup with alcohol 120%(the latest version) but it dosen't work.

Everytime i try to launch bf2142, it says that i need to have the dvd in my drive.

Yes, i've tried to use pr0t.stop and i've tried to disable my plextor dvd drive. But it dosen't work.

So i wonder if i've overlooked some options or maybe my dvd writer is just unable to make functioning image backup?



Edit: And when i want to make the image of bf2142, why can't i choose which cd protection to do it with? like i know its possible to choose "safedisc" but that options is gone.

I own original cd, but i hate cd in my drive. During booting the cd drive is very noisy. Aarrgh. And CD-Check is faster with image. I'm silent freak. :D

if the publishers dont like that then they can buy it back off me but until that happens i own that data on the disk.

Virtual CD 8 is capable of remapping its virtual drive to a physical one, thats why the SCSI blacklisting of SD doesn't work here. Using Alcohol's/DT's virtual drive one has to deactivate optical drives in devive manager.

btw. there is no need to read "CD/DVD Geometrie" (Topology/Data position) as Safedisc media don't have special physical characteristics like e.g. Securom or Starforce ones.

I do want to correct something you have said.
Under no circumstances do you ever 'own' the data on the disc! You will only ever own a 'license' which allows you to use the data on that disc and it can only be used on the one PC at a time.
Thats just how it is. ;)

Also, and some may find this hard to believe, but I do not enjoy banning people. I will only ban people if they have broken one of the more serious forum rules.
If people were to take the time to read and understand the forum rules then no-one would ever be banned.
Rarely does a long term member get banned as they are aware of and abide by these rules.

On this particular forum those with the higher post counts or those who have been a regular contributer for many years are normally the more trusted people. But that is not to say newer people cannot be trusted.
Bad information is usually scrutinized very quickly here so we soon know who to trust and who not too.
Like anywhere it takes time to learn who to trust, that is a part of everyday life, even away from the net. ;)

use 5star Game Copy

it'll emulate it for you

but you'll need to run it off a backup dvd

and not off an image

its a way to run a backup of the game and works pretty bloody good.

but i still need a fixed image otherwise i may as well just use the original dvd

afterall since i only own a licence to it the company has to send me out a new disk anyways free of charge too

Being a forums and server admin for a UT/BF2/FEAR based multigaming clan, I can say for sure that ALL mods and admins with more than a few months experience would prefer that everyone follow the rules. This makes everyone's life much eaiser and removes the natural suspicion that surrounds new people.

@Alien Firefox.... the Gamejack idea is a good one. My concern is my 3 yr old... known as Gramma's Revenge. He's payback for when I was a kid. He has destroyed 4 CD's/DVD's already. And these were hidden.

At about 25 cents each I don't mind making a half dozen backup disks, so if Gamejack will run them properly then PERFECT. Granted it's easier to load an image...

With regards to the publishers most are very easy to have replace the disk. They sometimes ask that you pay a small shipping and handling fee, but sometimes they simply replace them without asking at all.

OK here's how to do it

Bf2142 has SafeDisc 4.70.000, so no Mini images or anti blacklisting don't works, until they update.

So...

Make a full image with Alcohol 120%, call it the same as the original disc.
I ticked skip read errors, and advance sector scanning.
When its done, download the latest daemon tools.
Mount the image.
Now in order for it to work, disable all REAL hardware optical drives via device manger (admin tools, or control panel>system) right click and go disable.

now it should work.

This is only to be used if you have Brought Original Game. and are only using it for a no-CD/DVD options, to keep the disc safe from damage.

Use your own disc to create the image, since the image would be 3.4gb.

Put The Image in your new virtual drive. You must start Virtual CD v8. You can't double click in the folder of your explorer. Start vCD8 !

o.k. maybe the image works without reading cd geometry. But I thought it would be better to turn on this function (read all wrong sectors of Safe Disk :confused: )

You can't buy this programm legal in germany ;) Against Law.

i was using Alcohol 120% to make the images file but it show that it still required CD to play

That was the story begin , i try to use Daemon Tools(Newest version) as Decoy , then i was installed in my computer and open all Emulation menu "But! not mount any images on it!" (and don't create and new Virtual drive too, disable all new Virtual drive ASAP!.)

from the begining...i already have Alcohol 120% mount with my Bf2142 images , suddenly i was try to Start the game again without CD and IT WORK!!!

That game never ask me for that damn stupid CD anymore!!
