I already had the iso, cant remember what I used to make it but heres what worked for me.

disable pata controller in device manager, download the image file from gamecopyworld, mount with latest version of DT... and play. this gave me no trouble at all but maybe im just lucky! heres my setup

-DFI NF4 SLI-DR
-3700 san diego
-OCZ Plat PC3200 rev2
-6200 turbocache (yes I know its poor, had to sell my 66oogt)
-maxtor 200gb sata1 drive (single drive, no raid. Maybe thats why it worked for me)


for all those saying you need to install with the image mounted in DT, just so you know I didnt have DT when I first installed the game. I used MagisISO

And again: if you got an nForce 3/4 board you just have to disable the ata controller in the device manager. Sfnightmare and the "vcd pro method" will also work with nForce boards. But only with nForce boards...

Toca 3 : problem solved (at least for me...)
 

I have an HD image of Toca 3 never used because of StarForce protection problems.
I have tried all the suggestions posted (install virtual drive software, disable IDE drives, and so on..) but nothing was good for me.

Yesterday reading some posts in this Forum I downloaded the Toca 3 .mds file from www.copybase.ch (USA version) :
1) renamed it with the same name of my image file, leaving .mds extension for the file and .mdf extension for the image file.
2) mount .mds with Alcohol 120% (latest version)
3) install game
4) reboot
5) Run the Game and ... it WORKS!!!
No need virtual drive software or disable IDE drives in Drive Manager or something else...

PC conf. :
ABIT AW8-Max with Intel chipset 955X
2 S-ATA HD configured as RAID-0
2 optical IDE
1 USB HD external drive

I had a crap load of trouble with running this game untill i came here a found out about daemon tools!!

Just thought i might add my success story to this thread.

Installed TRD3 all good (takes bloody ages doesnt it!!)
Shut down PC, removed all IDE cables to CD/DVD Media
Switched back on, downloaded Daemon Tools 4.03
Mounted my .mds image to virtual CD Rom
Then ran the TRD3.exe and all was sweeeeeet :)

Now all i need are the cheat codes, then fun fun fun

ur owning an original version so u can register it to get ur cheats u cheater ;)

it sucks to unplug ide drivers. but all here know that this works...thats not perfect at all...
what we all need is a solution to #1 keep dvd in dvd-case #2 get rid of starforce trojan #3 avoid that damn ide unpluggin

I think the nForce 3/4 trick was confirmed by the Daemon Tools developers, so, no, it doesn't seem to be a myth...!

1. Can anybody confirm that it works?
2. If yes, does it also work with the german version of the game ("DTM Race Driver 3")?
3. Can I start the game by mounting this image in DT4.03 or Alcohol 120% without having to unplug anything?

I will only buy this game, when there is a chance of playing it without having to insert the original DVD!

The mini image is not working for me.The only way to play without original is to make full image with alcohol 120% DPM setting set to high and low speed of extraction , hide your optical drives from starforce ( maybe you will need to unplug the cables from them to do that ) , mount and play.

Do YOU have to unplug the cables of your IDE drives or does it work just by mounting the full-image for you?

I have motherboard with nforce4 chipset and my harddisks are sata so i can just disable the PATA controller in device manager and play.The game doesn't work with the full image if the pata controller is not disabled.You maybe will need to unplug drives if you don't want to use ypur original.

95% (or more) of the SF titles since v3.4.6.x do execute an ISO check (VERY rare exceptions e.g. Spellforce 2 1.0, Wintersports Pro 2006); so if there is an varying ISO check (it's not like Safedisc ISO check where sectors are always the same) no mini/maxi image is possible as the checked sectors are always different.

As suggested by neptun it works with a full image, but i'm sure this method will be gone with the next patch (see Spellforce 2 1.1 and Blazing Angels 1.01 both using SF 3.7.16)

The mini ToCA Race Driver 3 image doesn't work, however a full image mounted in Daemon Tools works just fine!

i have tried to mount the mini image in deamon V4, and it doesnt work for me.
I think it doesnt work for everybody too.
Well, i hope a great cracker will can create a mini-image, or maybe its impossible.

I have disconected the ide drive, i`ve mount the image in daemon 4, and it works till i try to start a race.... then ill show up with the f**king blue screen and the system restarts, ofcourse i cant even read the error..... could some 1 help me?? :eek:

I made a Image of original DVD with alcohol 1.9.2.3823
i tryed in my PC with Starforcenigthmare
disable ATA
after i mount the image in alcohol or daemon tool and it work :)

my friend have the same PC but different mobo (asus with VIA)
and for him , it doesen't work :(

I managed to get this working on an nforce 4 board by disabling the PATA controller (I just use RAID SATA HDD's), and running the MDF / MDS image via an external USB 2.0 HDD on DT4 - Works fine!!!:) but wont work mounted on the SATA raid disks...

we need to hear less about successful nforce4 m/b with this game and more about none nforce4 ways to get it working..we know it works with nforce4 by now, and im sick of reading it! :Þ)

This didn't actually work on my Nforce 4 board on its own, the point I was trying to make is that I needed (and was lucky enough to have converted) a USB 2.0 HDD from which to mount the image, and I have read that some people are unlucky enough to not be able to run the original DVD either, at least some companies are beginning to realise (Ubisoft in particular), that Starforce seems to penalise legal owners too, Ubisoft, after being sued by disgruntled customers, have dropped Starforce now!!!

i cant play toca3 with Hell-hunteR mini-image...only with the full image mounted on daemon tools!

any solution? i really would like to delete the full image of the game(4.6GB) because i have only a miserable 40GB HD..and i desperatly need free space

you can get an exe file here ive tested it myself and it works no need to disable drives or anything but replace the orginal exe file with this

i downloaded a cracked exe file for this and was wondering if anyone knew who made it and if that person has made any other cracks for games that use starforce?

sigh, trying to contact the cracker is incredibly unlikely...
if there are other cracks for starforce games, check gamecopyworld
or the other sites listed in the faq

And before anybody asks, NO, there is no crack for the 1.1 patch :)

Hi, last time I changed my mb, I bought and ASUS P5LD2, with Intel chipset 82801G (ICH7 Family) and it works without unpluggin the drives, the previous motherboard didnt worked without unpluggin the drives (it was ASUS A8V Deluxe (AMD) with Via chipset). I think SF has implemented some ways to get into the chipsets, but newer ones are now "inmune" to it xD.
So, if you have latests intel chipsets, at least, you can play :)

I've other games with SF (scct ie) and it works too.

I hope starforce will never be used again in games :)

No, it isn't your M/B who is doing that, but the new Daemon Tools 409.I checked all my starforce games who havent been cracked yet and all play not only on my computer but also in on 2 other computer who have old maonboards

I'm looking for it anyone can send it??

why not just use a no-cd patch? theres been a working one for well over a year now for v1.2

i have toca race driver 3 and am running vista business and when i place the image in Daemon nothing happens at all.
it won't even install.
i have tried all the different options of disconnecting stuff etc. but nothing
any more clues.

So you dont have the original disc?

You using an image you downloaded from a torrent site or something?
