That link doesn't do anything...
|
You need to paste it into Edonkey 2000, a P2P program, and it will dl it from there.
|
I did, doesn't do anything.
|
Well, then thats the only link I could find. Dunno what else to do, except for you do manually patch up your registry. Don't ask me how to do that, just look around on Daemon-tools.cc. They have instructions there.
|
Oi-vay...how frustrating. Thanks anyways.

The above method of the Virtual CD, did not work for me. It says "The system cannot find the file specified"
|
U prolly forgot to run it in compability mode for windows 2000.
|
No, tried that, put it in program files too. tried it in desktop, many diff variations...
maybe its cuz' I tried that thing that fooked yer system up... DAMNIT, ussualy it takes like 2 days for a crack to be released |
Hehe maybe it is... I cant help u man. I just tested it on friends comp. :( Worked. :)
|
|
Thanks morph123. Does it work for you or am I the only guy here who is 2/3 the way through the game?? :D
|
Nothings working, said security module was missing, so it couldn't start...
|
Hmm interesting crap man. Dunno what to say. Looks like your only hope is Antiblaxx, if it doesnt kill ure computer lol.
|
Yes...so...help me with antiblaXX explain in detail?:P
|
Nothing to explain, just dl, install, run, and then set up the settings for which game u want it to bypass the protection for, and then tell anti-blaxx to run it.
|
Uh, that doesn't explain alot, speicaly where to d/l, what to press...and such.
|
Im sorry if this sounds blunt, but I havent the time now to explain, so you will just have to figure it out yourself.
No time, srry :( |
Keh. I understand, I'm fooking around with it. No luck. Jus do your math work man!
http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/1008/er9oa.th.jpg I am so lost... |
using the search button ... perhaps searching for 'anti-blaxx' or 'antiblax' might yeild results, i remember seeing quite a detailed thread with screenshots on how to do it.. i think it was on the moto gp3 thread.. if in doubt use the search!
'i am so lost' sounds both pathetic and lazy (no offense intended) |
I made a backup of Winter Assault CD1 using Alcohol 120% that works perfectly.
Follow this guide: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=144003 |
Offense taken, because I spent 9 hours researching everything today and get called lazy, as if I didn't use the search...either way, unless you have actual useful information, don't post.

Boo-ya! Its working for me. All I had to do, finally, is use the most recent Alcohol to mount the first disk image and set the game binaries to windows 2000 compatibility. Who woulda thought?
Thanks for the tips, guys! |
offense taken eh.. 9 hours... hmm, took me 30 seconds to find this
http://fileforums.com/showthread.php...ighlight=blaxx really really difficult, so perhaps you are quite simply lazy, either way i really dont care, so dont take offence, just read the bloody thing and then perhaps you wont look like an arrogant prick expecting (as rendari says) everything on a silver/golden platter |
Lol, I already tried that method, was pasted way back in the beggining of the thread. So don't go boasting how easy it is, when it doesn't work for all people.
- Wait...how do I change the binaries to 2000 compat mode? it doesn't have the option |
Quote:
I got this from an earlier post which suggested setting the compatiblity to the shortcut, which I couldn't. I would have posted more details but it was late and my eyes were blurry from playing... Ok, to change the compatibility setting (this is from memory, so please bear with me. I am at work and don't have access to a windows machine.): First, find the application directory, usu C:/Program files/THQ/Dawn of War (I think). In this directory there are four binaries, the two Dawn of War binaries and the two Winter Assult binaries. By binaries I mean the exe files. Right click on the WA exe's and among the tabs <i>should</i> be a compatibility tab. If not, its at least on one of the available tabs. There is a drop down menu for which OS. Choose Windows 2000. I am guessing the security check that is preventing Alcohol from working doesn't work on Win 2000 so when you set the compatibility, it doesn't try it. Or not. Heck if I know, it just works. Remember to use the original DoW exe and the most recent Alcohol. I didn't need to set any of the emulation options on Alcohol either. I didn't try it with the mini image but I have been using an image created with BlindWrite, if that makes a difference. I really hope this helps some of those who are stuck. I know I was sweating over it for too long! Having to switch out that CD w/o a backup can be a real pain in the posterior. :D BTW, WA is nice, but, actually, I prefer DoW. (*ducks head*) |
Um...I wasn't directing that rant at you, but the person before my post, saying how easy it is, when 90% of the people ere still can't get it to work.
You called them binaries...that confused me, I already put them in 2000 compat mode before! didn't fix anything :P |
i meant it was easy to find (the thread), as with all pc's due to the nature that they all aren't the same configuration, some things work for some people, some things dont, perhaps you're doing something wrong, perhaps your image is bad, the only person who can really tell us that is you, and you arent exactly helping yourself.. for instance only now do u say u already tried the method stated in that post, or the compatability mode thing... we aren't mind readers

DoW Winter Assault Mini Image
Hello,

Just trying to help out, MD |
Thank you, I was sick of 10 messages every hour for it...even though it doesn't work for me, it might work for others...oh well, will have to wait for a crack / fixed exe
|
Yeah, I hear you. I am at work and haven't had a chance to try the Mini Image yet. I don't even care as I am using my original!! The expansion completed DoW to the point of perfection. I am having a great time with it. At least it's not Starforce. I wouldn't have bought this awesome expansion if it was. I am confused about one thing though maybe you can help me out with. I thought a Mini Image was for a Safedisk protected game. Safedisk has the anomalies at the beginning of the CD. When you use A120 to start making an image, you will get some errors. They say to cancel the image making process after 3 errors and you now have a Mini Image. But I didn't know this would work for a Securom7 game. That's probably why it doesn't work for you. Someone probably did the Mini Image process for this game not realizing that it has to be Safedisk for this Mini Image to work. Otherwise there would be a Mini Image for every game ever made that isn't Starforce. I could be mistaken though.
Thanks, MD |
Hmmm, well seeing how popular this game is...it probably won't be TOO long for a crack / fixed exe right? I've searched over 4 forums and found over 12 ways to get around it, but none of those solutions work for me...
hell, I'd even learn to make one if I knew where to begin :P |
