GTA got Problem with Alcohol virtual drive

The Game doesn't start with Alcohol Virtual Devices. Turn them off. I use the official crack and got the german Retail version of gta (no download version) and it works fine with Leadtek 6800 GT AMD 3000+ 1024 MB Ram, Thrustmaster Joypad, onboard sound

Machina 11-06-2005 08:59

I have Audigy 2 and I get lock ups all the time...

Grumpy 11-06-2005 09:15

I have an Audigy 2 Platnium and I have no problems?

XtremeX 11-06-2005 09:20

I have onboard sound & haven't had a single problem yet with the crack or with anything else. It's all run just as it should :)

karlmueller 11-06-2005 09:40

I think I now whats the problem:

As you may know HOODLUM is a WAREZ Release-Group. They are releasing complete games not only cracks. The crack you can find on GCW is just ripped out of the HOODLUM Release. But the HOODLUM Release is an US-Version so the crack is also for the US Version (which of course only supports English and Spanish).

I think those wo have problems with the crack have got the EU Version (with German, French, Italian, English, Spanish language support) or the german version (the same as the EU Version but cutted). So its not a broken crack. The crack is simply incompatible with your version.

leezer3 11-06-2005 09:48

WRONG!!!
I'm using the english crack with the UK release of GTA San Andreas. If you look earlier in the thread, the problem has been shown to be with a specific soundcard.
READ THE PRIOR POSTS!!

Sorry for that little outburst, but you must read the earlier posts :D

XtremeX 11-06-2005 15:49

I guess we can tell who bought it & who didnt

I'm using the NO-CD crack with my EU version and don't have problems. There are two versions of the crack. One that says English and the other that says ALL. The second one is the one I use.

So... you didn't bought the game...

DABhand 11-06-2005 18:21

Thats not what he said,

I think he said he has cash left after buying the game which is 50, and he may have 55+ left so he may buy the audigy 2.

Personally I woulda got a SB Live 24bit for less.

postaldudeleo 12-06-2005 16:05

The game costed me 55 bucks in the store.
The audigy 2 zs is at a nice and cheap 50 bucks in some places. It was at 70 when I bought my computer last year so.......

postaldudeleo 12-06-2005 16:20

I tried the Inspire crash fix version (on GCW) to no avail becaus eI don't get how to use it.

Can someone outline the instuctions most of all the one that says to edit the reg file that come with it.

Joe Forster/STA 13-06-2005 08:34

Hi guys,

The Inspire crash fix is fine. If you don't know how to use it, read the NFO file! Happy gaming,

Joe

postaldudeleo 13-06-2005 09:18

I tried it and it still crashed. Did I do something wrong?

my path to save games was C:\\GTA San Andreas User Files

I used the patch on the hoodlum exe it gave and my game still crashes on booting the game :(

the crack works fine. Noobs should just buy the game if they dont know what they are doing. You bough ****ty Area 51 with SF3 even though it was cracked but you dont buy this?

Sounds like you should play the game without any cracks for a few days and post back the results.

postaldudeleo 14-06-2005 08:42

What I'm doing :)

But I had to restart though because my save games died

Oh and @ drownage, I did buy the game. Please die. Thanks :D

Joe Forster/STA 14-06-2005 09:12

@postaldudeleo: My GTA:SA savegame dir patch will appear on GCW soon. Try it!

postaldudeleo 14-06-2005 10:01

OK cool

No, Sir. Noobs like you should read the forum rules.
Now I know you read them. Here's the kicker.

People should buy the game if they KNOW what they're doing. If they don't know what they're doing they will make a post like yours and get banned.

Of course I might be wrong in assuming that you do know what you're doing and, by your logic, did not buy the game.

postaldudeleo 15-06-2005 09:25

This is what you do to stop crashes.

go to the cracked exe and right click

then properties and then compatibility. Select windows 2k and click apply.

No more crashes! Thing though is that i can't save, no way to get it to save for some reason. When I try to save it tells me to check save game dir.

How do i remove the file path for inspire fix. I think that might be the Problem.

XPTO 15-06-2005 11:29

Not really the same problem, but I've been playing my European edition with the "all languages" version of the no-dvd exe posted on the website, and everytime I enter the game it changes the refresh rate of my monitor from 85 to 60, and when I leave the game it keeps it at 60, and I have to manually change it everytime I leave the game.

Anyone has this problem? Anyway to fix this?

Maybe installing the newest drivers ???
For ATI it's the Catalyst 5.6  For Nvidia i don't know the exact version of the graphics drivers... :)

I have everything up to date, so it isn't that.

DABhand 16-06-2005 01:24

The game actually runs at 30fps, so hence the drop in refresh rate.

But apon leaving the game it should refresh back to original settings, I dont know why but there you go you must be jinxed.

Yes , but there's not a C:\\Documents and Settings\\Gtasasav on my machine...

I tried also to create it, but the result is the same...still crash!

Joe Forster/STA 17-06-2005 05:51

Hi Probosk, please, be patient until my savegame dir patch is uploaded to GCW. Perhaps, it works better than the Inspire crash fix...? dunno...

Probosk 17-06-2005 05:56

Hi Joe,
you are uploading your savegame dir on GCW??

So what's the problem for this game? i dont have understand what's the reason x this crash...

but this savegame could be shared on emule? :p :)

Joe Forster/STA 17-06-2005 06:32

Hi Probosk,

You can read about the - probable - reason for the crash in another forum, whose link has been added to some of these threads. (Do some search.)

As for my savegame dir patch, it has been created independently of this crash problem: I simply don't like games puking their config files and savegames into my user's home directory (which I don't want to bother with) so I redirect those files to the game installation directory instead, by hacking the game a little bit.

Probosk 17-06-2005 06:49

Ah ok...Joe

so we'll wait this "fix" ...

I wanna play but it's not possible for the moment...

If someone have solved this problem...

Give us more infos...

thx :(

postaldudeleo 17-06-2005 07:08

I think your talking about www.gtaforums.com right? Well how do I access them,it seems they haver banned my IP. Why I have no clue as I myself never visited that site.

I click that it gives me error that I am forbidden and that my IP is on a list of IP's that they have banned.

Probosk 17-06-2005 07:09

It's the same for me, but i never visited this site ...

please help :D if u can. thanks

Grumpy 19-06-2005 06:55

@Jarrod 100
Your problem is, you and your brother are breaking the law! You are not allowed to install a game 'you' do not own! Nor have you read these forums rules! You will very shortly be banned from these forums! Go and buy the game yourself!

Nothing more to say!!!

noscript 19-06-2005 10:24

if you have problems running gta after driver or monitor upgrade try removing the *.set file in your gta user files directory :)

frisk eucalyptus 20-06-2005 05:32

the GTA: San Andreas [ALL] No-CD/Fixed Image that can be found on GCW doesn't work with demon tools v3.47

DABhand 20-06-2005 09:46

It does work, but you have to change settings or use Anti-Blaxx to get it to work.

noscript 20-06-2005 10:00

it can't work coz it has no mdf so dt cannot mount ;)
