Its IMPOSSIBLE to make a SECUROM mini-image.

Mini Images are ONLY for Starforce/Safedisk games. NO OTHER.

NO SECUROM Miniimages! NEVER

You can make mini images for securom. Heck, I am using one right now! All you need in addition is a program that blocks the protection, for instance anti-blaxx.

And last time I checked you had to disable the cd-rom channels and run the game off a USB interface when using a SF mini image, which I doubt can be called a "working" mini image.

No need radar. Just use starforce Nightmare and you can mount a SF protected game normally and play it.

I'm wondering if this damn thing will ever get finished. I got a no-cd to start the program, but that's as far as it goes. Any suggestions out there? THe game opens with the new no-cd but when it goes to the movie, everythign cuts out. As far as a mini image, I don't think it will happen :( :confused: :confused: :confused:

So you don't need any USB drive crap?

No just run Starforce nightmare, disable your optical drives, mount the image (make a slight registry change).

I'm impatient to use this new NoCD patch.
In my case I have DVD version and it's a lot boring to need leave it in the driver.

Version 1.0------------------> SecuROM 5.03.13.0014
Version 1.03 (patch 1b)------> SecuROM 7.00.00.0022
Version 1.04.8 (patch 2)-----> SecuROM 7.00.00.0038

I don't like use Virtual Drive. NoCDs are the best. :D

Well The new patch didn't really hurt much, once you start the game with your RETAIL DVD or CD just remove the DVD/CD, and keep on playing, this cut's down on the DVD spin up & down, But a Nocd would be alot simpler LOL if one could be made. Cheers

Question it states in the manuly of Act Of War you can make a back up, copy of the game fpr personel use and protection of your original copy, my question is Do I need to do it in DVD format (and will it read the copyed exe?) or can I use the CD format for reg CD rom, remember questions are only stupid to the ones that know the answers. :confused: Thx,s

Here's an update guys...

I'm not too sure what's been going on with this game, however, I know that the release of the fixed exe will be out very shortly. I am about 50% there to having this thing done. At last post, the game started then crashed a little into the movie. Well, it crashes now after the first level is done. Bear with me. :confused:

Yes, the image works with virtual cd v7. (Act of war 1.04 german).

I don't have much experience with virtual CD v7. Anybody knows advantages in comparison with alcohol or other emulators ?

I think it might be a great programm, because it fools securom v7 and you can play from a virtual drive. So it's better than alcohol ?? With alcohol I must burn a real DVD and then it works (or sometimes not).

I don't feel like installing Virtual CD - is there any tool to convert the .VC4 to ISO so I can keep using DTools?

Just out of interest: What's so special about AoW v1.04 that takes it so long to be ... fixed? I haven't heard of a similar gap between official release and fix so far.

No? What about Splinter Cell 3 and Trackmania Sunrise? And LotR Battle for Middleearth? :confused: Sometimes it isn't that easy to create a working (without additional bugs, not that one from the original game) NoCD/NoDVD for a new game... ;)

Fixed Image for 1.04, works with Patch 1.05

Play Instructions:

* Install the game - Full Installation.
* Mount the AOW.VC4 CD-Image in Virtual CD.
* Play the Game!

That's nice - still, I'd prefer a fixed EXE...

No, i test it, i use the vc4 image with latest Alcohol120% and Deamon-Tools, it doesn´t work

both tools are blacklistet, so Securom7 dont accept the image...

only work with Virtual-CD7

UltraISO supports the vc4 format, unfortunately if looks like you have to press and hold enter to skip through all the errors - which makes me doubt that it will work.

Anyway, 1.05 does work on the Virtual CD program, although the program is a bit of a pile of **** I must say.

I hope a crack comes from Hoodlum soon, or that somebody manages to convert the vc4 mini-image to ISO format so that I can at least run it with anti-blaxx.
