they follow these item:
1) Uninstall all softwares of player and del the folder of the "file program". Now, reinstall the aplications.

2) Download firmware here:http://s1mp3.secret.com.br (firmware, drivers and aplications).

3)connects the player usb in computer end executes "MP3 Player Update Tool", in MP3 Player Utilities 1.43 folder,

4) select the firmware (.bin) and upgrad the firmware.

now, to remove the player of the computer and reconnects. it is necessary format the chip (samsung) selecting the driver in "explorer windows" right button of mouse select "fast format (FAT), not FAT32".

it finished!!! :)

I had a reply from the people I bought this off with some useful information in it concerning general use.... Hope this helps :)

(1)First of all, you should never install the driver from the CD for windows XP, 2000,
and ME. If you did, try to uninstall it cleanly. The CD is for Windows 98 only.

(2)as our players support music in MP3/ WMA format(should not under DRM protection),
please dowloaded some songs in these two music formats and save in your local hard drive
(such as c:\).

The player acts as a portable hard drive when connected to the pc via the 1.1 or 2.0 USB
port (USB 1.0 port is not supported). To transfer MP3/WMA music files between the player
and the computer, simply plug player into the computer with a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port running
windows 2000, XP or ME. (Windows 98 requires the driver from the small installation CD).

After you plug in, the player will automatically be recognized as a "Removable disk". Use
Windows Explorer to transfer the songs between your local hard drive and "Removable disk"
by dragging the mp3 songs from your local hard drive (such as c:\) to "Removable disk".
Once you are done transferring songs to the player, you can disconnect the player from
the pc properly(right click "Removable disk" and select "eject" to remove it from
computer, then unplug it from computer) and start enjoying the music.

Following is how to store and play downloaded songs properly

You can put songs in root directory (music not in any created folder is supposed to be in
root directory) or create folders to store songs. But our players do not support
subfolder(folder inside of another folder).

You can access the music directories you have created with the instruction below:

1). Turn on the mp3 player and then enter music menu. You should be able to see one song
displayed on the mp3 player's screen. DO NOT press the PLAY key yet.

2). Short click the MODE key once to enter the MUSIC submenu. Switch the MODE key
constantly either to the left or to the right to review the options until you see LOCAL
FOLDER.

3). Short click the mode key once to access LOCAL FOLDER sub-menu, then you should see
the directories you have created. Switch the mode key to the right or left to review the
directory options, and then select your desired directory by short clicking the mode key
once. Press the PLAY key now to play the music in your selected folder.

4). If you want to repeat the desired folder, short click the mode key once when the
music is being played. Switch the mode key to review the options, if you want to play all
the music, just select "repeat folder".

I too have a 512 worked for one day. Tried to load music and overloaded. After that it wouldnt initialize and went into default language(chinese). Did the mistake of exploring without understanding the menu and am left with a formatted stick. Now mine is all light blue when connected to USB or a battery. Help!!!!

512MB MP3 Player with FM
 

I've bought an unbranded mp3 player with 512mb which has FM radio also, on Ebay.co.in. I've tried upgrading firmware. Initially, When I connected for first time to PC I was prompted to put USB mass storage device CD, it said AdfuUd.sys and MSI.CAB cannot be found. The CD along with the player is useless. I had created 5 folder with MP3 songs in the Windows Explorer and dragged and dropped in the Removable Disk. Having done that, the Music menu on the player showed some garbled language (not Chinese) and then now it states only as 'starting'. Now I have given it in a shop to reformat which costs Rupees.500 :eek: .

i bought my player in ebay also. A bougth 1 g player. I have had a lot of problems (restart automatically, loose files,...) so i tried to format. After formating, the player was 512 mb!!!!:eek: :mad:
I decided change firmware trying to solve and after change fw, the player doesnt work because when switch on, iluminates but there is no menu. I cant change to a new firmware bacause when i try to use "mp3 upgrading tool", i get the message "removable disk is busy, run program after waiting a moment" I think is blocked but the "hold" is not selected.:confused:

I am not sure I am having the same issues. I did get 2 on Ebay from 2 different Sellers and both have the same issues!!!!!

I'm able to upload songs that have been downloaded onto my computer from a CD. I am however unable to upload songs that I downloaded from Napster. They are both WMA files. So I am totally confused. Both MP3 players say that there is a Format Error. These were made in China, (I believe). One of them did come with a "User Manual". It does call this MP3 an IP 836AR. Not that that would mean anything to me, I am hoping it will mean something to you!
I don't know what else to tell you????????

Huge amount of info on these cheap Chinese and some so-called 'Branded' MP3 players there...(Even Sony re-brand the ATJ chip based mp3's.....)

Most are based on the Actions ATJ2085 and 2051 chips with Hynix or Samsung memory....

I Did The Same Thing To Another Brand Of MP3 Player. The Key To Fixing Mine Was To Insert It Into My Computers USB Port. Opening My Computer, Right Click On The Removable Disk Icon And Select 'Format'. In The Settings For Formatting I Had To Make Sure That The File System Format Was 'FAT'. After Formatting It Would Work Again :D . Don't Know Whether This Will Work For Yours :confused: But Give It A Try.

This is what it looks like. Now, here is the problem. It has 1GB memory.....I have loaded 127 songs onto it, leaving 356mb of space. It will not let me add any more. It keeps telling me that it cannot create/replace this file or directory. I even tried copying through the DOS prompt but got the same message. If I have 356mb of space left, why on earth won't it let me add more songs??? :mad:

Tough luck, I guess, as neither Altavista nor Google gives any results for "AdfsUd.sys"... :( (Are you sure you spelled the filename right?)

This should be a lesson for you NOT to buy such stuff from "just some person on the Net": if the device stops working (or doesn't even start working when you get it), you'll have noone to complain at...! Obviously, you got no manual or driver disk or URL of official support page etc. etc...

I'm astonished that people keep falling for these online auctions, only to buy something for a few dollars less than if buying them in a proper shop; or buying some non-brand, cheap junk instead of buying a device from a well-established brand (yes, for a higher price but also of higher value, support and reliability)! (Perhaps, preferably, a "physical" shop you can go to, enter, sort through different brands and models of devices, ask the shopkeeper for his opinion and suggestion, and take your non-functional device back to during the warranty period.) Jesus, people, wake up!

:mad: purchased a 2gig mp3 player from an on-line auction, unmarked, chinese in origin, looked very nice (black wafer thin jobbie) apparently with a samsung chip.. loaded about 1.5 gigs worth of music onto it.. tried to navigate through the music files on the player only to find that most of it wasn't there! windows explorer said the files were there.. player said they were not.. blah blah etc etc.. after formatting, reformatting, deleting files, adding files and so forth, i came to the conclusion that, although firmware(?) told both myself and my pc that the capacity was 2 gigs, it was in fact only 512 megs.. great.. after having walked away for a few hours and then come back to it, it will now only accept any sort of file transfer after formatting - it will do this every time - only to find now that it has magically transfomed itself into a 2 meg player which is good really because who wants to waste their life listening to stupid music when theirs the washing up to do... ??:o

guys I have the elusive ADFUUD file. Please see attachment for more info. Send me your email address at pschitnis**********com so that I can send you more info to revive that "stupid" mp3 player. Please note that when you load music, you must leave atleast 2 to 3 MB free for the player to operate well. Otherwise it will hang. Incase this happens, attach it to a PC and delete files.

Can you, please, post that information here instead? Also, if you zip up the necessary file(s), you can attach them to your post. (If it doesn't work, contact me and I'll try to help with adding the attachment.)

Many members have sent me mails and I have sent them important links and files to help revive their mp3 player. However many replies have bounced back maybe since their account can't handle a 5.4 MB attachment.

So let me share some of the info here. The Afuud file is available on the accompaning CD. The firmware in the CD of many of the Chinese players don't work, making the player into a useless piece of electronics. If this is the case please go to the following link for some very usefull information to revive your "mass storage device" to mp3 player again. remember, one has to try couple of firmwares before the right one is found.

HowTo: Extract and Repair Firmware

Extracting your players firmware is a very good idea just to create a backup of the original firmware files. It's no promise that you could always backup your player after some bad firmare update, but at least you have some more possibilities. First download newest version of s1fwx from this page and extract the archive. Then connect your mp3 player device to your computers usb port and wait until it gets detected. Now doubleclick the extracted file "extract.bat" or run "s1fwx f dump.bin" from the windows commandline console. Skip the disclaimer by pressing space and select the drive your player gets mounted to. (eg. if detected drives displays "<x>" then choose drive "x:" by pressing x) Now s1fwx should start extracting your firmware, this may take arround 10 seconds. If all went well and no error gets displayed it will display the content of the extracted firmware file as it was readden from your player.

Before you could update your player with this firmware file using the original "Mp3 Player Update Tool" you will first have to repair it. Start "repair.bat" or type "s1fwx r dump.bin". A backup will be saved at "dump.bi$" automatically and the repaired file is now available as "dump.bin". Notice that its not possible to do a firmware recovery with this file (only regular firmware updates) since there are missing files needed by the "Mp3 Player Update Tool" recovery mode. Since this files couldnt be found on your player you will need to get them from some official firmware file which is known to work with your players hardware. Either you first could recover to this firmware before updateing to "dump.bin", or you could insert the needed files from the original AFI file into "dump.bin" using s1fwx. The original firmware has to support your flash chip(s). It doesnt matters if its just using different backlight or key-mapping.

HowTo: Extract Firmware Files

Here some example how to extract the whole content of the AFI file "firmware.bin". Place firmware and s1fwx in one folder, open commandline console (run "cmd") and go to the folder containing the files. To extract the AFI type "s1fwx x firmware.bin". Then make a sub- folder "md fw", change "cd fw" and extract the firmware files using "../s1fwx x ../fwimage.fw". Now you should have extracted all the files usually included in some general firmware file.

HowTo: Archive Firmware Files

To modify files in a firmware you will have to extract, modify and then archive the files back together to one AFI file. First generate the script from the firmware file "firmware.bin" using "s1fwx s firmware.bin >firmware.bin.script". Then extract the files and modify their content if you want. if you want to add or remove files or change file specific parameters edit the generated script using an usual text editor (i think the syntax is self explaining). To archive the files back together type "s1fwx a new_firmware.bin:afi <firmware.bin.script ".
This could also be used to archive firmware files like "fwimage.fw". In this case use "s1fwx a fwimage.fw:fw <fwimage.fw.script".

HowTo: Recover To Extracted Firmware Files

Flashing your player with an extracted firmware file is a very simple procedure, just take care you repaired the extracted file (see above) and use the latest "MP3 Update Tool" available at the download section.
This works good until the day we flash our player with some partial corrupted firmware (a total corrupted firmware will damage the player permanently) and the update tool tells something about recovery mode and just opens an open-dialog. (maybe you will have to open your player and short some pins to get to this point, read the forum for further instructions)
If you select an extracted firmware file now, it just displays "Invalid upgrade firmware file". This isnt a bug of s1fwx! The problem is that recovering needs some extra files included inside our AFI-file that isnt needed for simple flashing. This files couldnt be found on the players flash, the only source is to look for them inside some original firmware files.
There are two methods to solve this problem and each of them expects you could find some original firmware file which is compatible to your players hardware and extracted firmware.

[Method 1]
- recover using some official firmware
- format the player (with the "MP3 Player Disk Tool")
- finally update to the extracted firmware file

[Method 2]
- extract the extracted and the official firmware file using s1fwx (only the AFI part)
- generate a script for both files ("s1fwx s dump.bin >dump.script")
- merge the scripts to some new script file using a text editor
- build a firmware using the new script ("s1fwx a new.bin:afi <new.script")

Both methods should have the same effect, give it a try
