realy don't know if that is legal information....
|
Dear aliwualk,
I challenge you to start reading _every_ single thread, that has at least one new article, _every_ single day, as I do. But only for a _month_, not for years, as I've been doing. Then you will understand how tiring and annoying it is to see the same questions asked again and again... Joe |
Dear Joe
i didnt mean to tell off any body.
I read so many post , from here to there to many diferent things and i agreed with you that some people just post without read before post. Thats all about post, people post, i know will be anoying but things come be done better as any other thing in live. Before i post any were, i use the search on the forum and if come out things then i read. What i mean that people just dont say help because so, we are noobies and we dont know how thing are done, but i find unsual that a gay post 15 post a day telling people off, will be better if you have to read the post move to where it has been posted ? or some thin similar. any way i hope you understand that aswell it is anoyng find people expending all day telling people off. cheers every single one. |
Hi aliwualk,
In a retro-moderated forum, like this, it is the moderator's privilege and job to tell people when they don't behave as expected by the forum rules. As noone is paid here to help others - and the moderators are the ones spending the most time on the forum -, if someone cannot behave, oh well... there are so many other forum he or she can visit. Where, perhaps, the rules are not this tight and/or the moderators are not this "nasty"... ;) It's this simple. Joe |
very enough
Hi, Joe
I agreed , very very enough. Moderators can do any thing, they DONT get pay , exactly, but dont mean any thing if they dont say it properly. Today u r here , tomorrow may not. why so much stress ?¿. Any way untill today i dint solve the problem , i ll wait to see if some one could do a better explanation for noobies as me. thx all lot. |
Even worse...
Sad but true, I PURCHASED the game three days ago, valid CD-Key, original CD's...etc.
After following along with the tutorials, reading the manuals, and configuring the game for opt. performance on my system, I settled in for a nice LONG gaming session...but... Five min. into the game. "YOU HAVE BEEN DEFEATED" I promptly contacted EA games support, and was given a copy of what I'm assuming is a standard "reply letter" to anyone who complains, pretty much a WORD-FOR-WORD copy of whats in the "trouble-Shooting" section of the manual. About 20 e-mails later, I'm STILL not able to play, and recieving NO help from EA, of course Best Buy wont take the game back (opened) and I'm finding little or NO help on the net. Re-installing, or running the "setup" prog. makes no difference. Just so everyone knows, this problem is NOT restricted to users that may, or may NOT have obtained thier copy of the game "officialy", As I have been in touch with 3 other RETAIL VERSION owners, who are encountering the same snag. It's sad when you spend a nice CHUNK of cash (which could have been spent on BEER! :) ) on a game, then have to resort to "back-door tactics" just to play it. |
Fix problem:
1) Delete file Lotrbfme.dat from game directory
2) copy this string into blank !setup.reg file and load it =================Cut===================== REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\The Battle for Middle-earth] "Language"="english" "InstallPath"="C:\\GAMES\\TBME\\" "Version"=dword:00010000 "MapPackVersion"=dword:00010000 "UseLocalUserMaps"=dword:00000000 "UserDataLeafName"="My Battle for Middle-earth Files" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\The Battle for Middle-earth\ergc] @="DZDD8NF64DBHYDFB0HLM" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth] "DisplayName"="The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)" "Installed From"="C:\\121212\\" "Registration"="SOFTWARE\\Electronic Arts\\EA GAMES\\The Battle for Middle-earth\\ergc" "CacheSize"="3351006208" "SwapSize"="0" "Language"="English US" "Locale"="en_us" "CD Drive"="C:\\" "Install Dir"="C:\\GAMES\\TBME\\" "Product GUID"="{3F290582-3F4E-4B96-009C-E0BABAA40C42}" "Region"="Europe" "Folder"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Ãëàâíîå ìåíþ\\Ïðîãðàììû\\EA GAMES\\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)\\" "Patch URL"="http://transtest.ea.com/Electronic Arts/The Battle for Middle-earth/Europe" "Suppression Exe"="rtsi.exe" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth\1.0] "Language"=dword:00000001 "DisplayName"="The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)" "LanguageName"="English US" =================Cut===================== 3) Get file from DVD Disk - lotrbfme_inst.exe & run it 4) Enjoy |

I think it is because I do not have the setup.exe! I tried it without that! SO that I just made that with the registry!
|
Dear Bladez
I think he means that you put the correct direction where u got the game installed.
for the one he put of example. tody its late but i made the reg, tomorow il try on LAN. must be instaledfrom "c:\\" o can be "d:\\:" another thing if you Get file from DVD Disk - lotrbfme_inst.exe & run it , where i put it ? thx |
Vodka...? Nah... just beer...
ALRIGHT!!!!
I FINALY got some real help from the "EA Support" team. I was told to run the "autorun", then select "install"... (Even though the game was already installed) after a few seconds, rather than asking for a cd key, or going through any of the setup process, the game simply started up. Perhaps this forced the game to re-run the "setup.exe" file, spawning a new ".dat" file...? no idea, seemed too simple. But, for the last hour or so, I've been playing just fine, no "exploding" units, or instant "DEFEAT". :) One bit of help I WAS able to squeeeeeze out of the tech guy was that "supposidly" the security check that causes the crash on "burned" copies of the game only takes effect once, in the first 5 min of ACT 1. So, in theory, loading in someones SAVED game, that begins on ACT 2, will bypass this entirely. Not sure where the saved games are stored, didn't bother to check (since mine is now working). But trust me when I say you realy WONT be missing much by starting in ACT 2. (Unless of course you REALY enjoy chopping wood... :P) Sorry my advice isn't as interesting as "edit this, delete that...etc etc..." Someone give that "saved game" thing a try... let me know, and I'll post my saved games on "ARES" Those of you who are struggling to get the game running... stick with it, it's well worth it. |

PS: That was a semi-sarcastic way of saying don't use gay as a negative thing. |
spell check...lol
based on the spelling in the rest of the post... it's possible that he had intended to write "GUY", rather than "gay"... wouldn't be the WORST thing he misspelled....lol
(You'll notice that I edited this post... I had to correct my own spelling errors..LMFAO!!!) |
very insightful :D
|
sorry "gays"
Quote:
sorry for that "mistake" i dint meaning..only that i and spanish ,can u see how bad is my english ? , i mean "guy " sorry again . Another thing , and the best, Mr Magnum72, thx very much , now it is working well on LAN , no unit exploits. thx to every one helped. |

BladeZ.... Got you covered...
sending "saved game" files is TOTALY within the rules... you'll have it in a few... (the setup.exe)... uh.. no.. I would NEVER send that!.. (wink wink...lol... be there in a while.. )
watching the new "Blade Trinity" on streaming... I'll hook you up in about an hour or so... :) (it was actually about 2 min... lol... I felt bad for the dude.LOL) I see by the next post, that he got it... :) |
Thx! You really help me with this!
|
oops.. sorry
I know I "shouldn't" post this.. but I'm thinking that the admin. may "overlook" this for a few min... The new BLADE TRINITY movie, is NOT worth going to the theatre for... I',m "seeding" it on "ares", search for "blade trinity" its pot 1, and pot 2... lol... worth watching for FREE) and yes, I AM the man with the cam...lol
But, back on topic, I hope that everone gets a chance to play the LOTR battle for middle earth... it's INSANE.. around "act 8" it gets pretty "nutty".. you better be a "gamer"... or you don't stand a chance... :) |
COuld send the setup again? THe e-mail is no attachment! DId you forget to attach the setup.exe? If you did not forget it then use my other e.mail!
|
damn it...
I've sent the "setup.exe" like five F#@KING times...lol.... If you can't open it, it's not my fault... :P
(here's what I get when I send it... The files setup.exe may be unsafe. Many recipients would not be able to open these attachments. You may want to delete these attachments before sending your message.) so, if you don't get it, it's all you man... all you |
I got just one mail and this did not have any attachment!
