Hello ^^
I was messing around with the reg to try and make it so when I do make the DVD to CD backup, I could install to any dir and not have to change the reg all the time, this seemed to work for me ^^ Installed the game (Full of course) used gimp dvd crack used this as my reg import Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KONAMI] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KONAMI\MetalGearSolid2 Substance] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KONAMI\MetalGearSolid2 Substance\1.00.000] "Full Install"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KONAMI\MGS2S] "InstallDir"=".." "SrcDrive"=".." played the game and everything, let me know if it works for others! :) |
@ jevi
you need this reg-entry so the setup.exe "knows" that MGS2 is installed and can be configured. try this: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KONAMI\MGS2S] "InstallDir"=".\\" "SrcDrive"=".\\" of it donīt work fill in you complete install dir like "InstallDir"="E:\Games\MGS2\" |
Hei!
@ cdkiller thakn you very much for your help! :D and for you beatiful guide! @ knight_inferno thank you too i have use the method of knight_inferno [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KONAMI\MGS2S] "InstallDir"=".." "SrcDrive"=".." and now i have an perfect copy of MGS2 (i can now change all settings) Jevi |
i made it a stiky, cuz there will be more dvd only games
available soon... (like TRON 2.0). all you need is in the first post (donīt fotget the registry stuff...) |
... or you can make a gigantic image with Alcohol120% and compress that using WinRar 3.0, with volumes of 730,000,000 bytes each. Handy to burn to cdr :D

Hi. Since some of you guys have MGS2, I wonder if you could help me in my thread? I don't know the URL as it isn't showing up, but its in this board: "CD/DVD Software & Utilities" . There must be a program I can use to get access to the MGS2 files off the DVD, right? Since you guys know how to back it all up....
It's only for personal use. You can read my topic in that board. I hope I'm not coming off as impatient, I just think this thread focuses on MGS2, and it IS pinned, so I might have better luck finding help here. :D The other thread can be seen HERE - BW |
MGS"
Where do i find the crack fo mgs2
GimpsRus MGS2 NoDVD Crack I have no clue I actually have a dvd writer Can i split it into 2 4 gb files I will ask you because your a genious I am pretty stupid |
Wouldnt it be possible to split up the Tron 2.0 DVD into 2 Volumes which are beeing burned on 2 CD's. After that there must be a way to refer the first CD to the second at the installation-status.
Is that possible ? (I dont know it, its just an idea.) |
TRON 2 can be backed up to 2 cds the same way as MGS2.
i also did it and it worked. u just need the registry files HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Monolith coz it contains the path were TRON 2.0 is installed. |
Mmhhh, but that doesnt answer my question...

I looked on your website listed in your signature, but can't find the guide or Reg files. Cheerz:) ;) :D |
i donīt have it anymore on my website...
just my protection scanner. |
The current version of BlindWrite 5 will now back-up dvd securom protected games.
|
isn't it possible to simply copy all files from dvd to som cd's. And then for installation copy them in one path on hd and install from there?
|
It should work for 99% of all games.
Sometime a SETUP will have the file for copying in the root-dir and check the disc-label, then it will not work. Just trying... |
cdkiller, good effort for putting out this guide.Though,i was wandering if there's any way to do the reverse(multiple cd's to a dvd).i couldn't find any guides like this on the net...it will be nice if u can write up a guide :)
|
you can man.i think someone mentioned it here.as far as i can remember create folders on the dvd(cd 1,2,3,4,...)and put all the contents of the cd inside.i think
