I have compared my registry installing using original installer with conversion installer. Both are the same.

of course i've replaced it with my serial.
i'll try to start over again.

pakrat2k2 12-11-2011 11:44

install from your dvd9, using your serial #.

Then goto regedit, goto if USING W7X64 otherwise remove the Wow6432Node part

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Take On Helicopters]

there will be a [KEY] right click on the key modify data and copy the hex values there. Then REPLACE the AA,BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,89 in the ISS script with what you just copied from your serial # ( hex values ).

i'm just watching & to see how that ends....anybody installed & played the game after a 3 hours conversion or just tippex????

TippeX 13-11-2011 01:40

@kozakis - thats an assumption on your part...i dont even have the game, i do however read instructions when i need to... And i dont think i would be dumb enough to get it wrong when its a 14gb compression (time consuming). step...

Yes.. i just realise that after 30 years experince in computers i'm, just the dumbest person here & you are the smartest!
We are friends all here .. so do not insult anyone who just missed something in the instructions & next time try to test before you post !!

tarzan_gk 13-11-2011 04:03

What i don't understand, why use lzma/ultra compression if you still got 4 DVD?
change compression to none and you got 4 dvd also, and only 10-15 minutes conversion.

@pakrat2k2
no offense, but have you try your conversion?
because in your script, you wrote on the registry section "Bohemia Interactive"
it should be "Bohemia Interactive Studio"

want to try again? 30 years experience means fuck all if you cant follow basic instructions which are even colored..

friends here? nope...you are being a baby who threw their toys out of the pram, i simply corrected you on your misassumption that i had the game... possibly you need to read things..like assuming about the serial in the script

sort out your attitude and grow the fuck up. ..point made?

and seriously think about your reply if you plan to make one

I test the conversions to make sure they install / uninstall without any error messages coming up. AND as for changing the compression its up to you, you want to change it to none then go ahead.

kozakis 13-11-2011 09:46

sorry i'll stop posting anything at all .. is any moderator here ???
goodnight & good luck!

Joe Forster/STA 13-11-2011 10:40

Please, don't stop posting here if you have something useful to say. By the way, both TippeX and I are moderators - and that's just about it for this forum - but we're not perfect either. ;)

1. Install the game.

2. Download the TOH-INNO.rar & extract where you have LOTS of room. ( NOT in Gamefolder )

3. Edit the TKOH.iss script & change first line:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Take On Helicopters\"

TO "WHEREYOURGAMEISINSTALLED\" ( \" MUST BE THERE )
**** See NOTE at BOTTOM REGARDING SERIAL # ****
4. Save the changes & run the script. This will take HOURS, 14GB Game!! So be patient.

5. The files will be in the Compiled folder.

MOVE setup.exe & Setup-1*.bin to TO_HELI1 folder
Setup-2*.bin to TO_HELI2 Folder
Setup-3*.bin to TO_HELI3 Folder
Setup-4*.bin to TO_HELI4 Folder

6. Use any name for label you wish.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST Use Regedit to get YOUR Serial #

Win7:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Take On Helicopters]
"KEY"=hex:AA,BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,89

XP:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Take On Helicopters]
"KEY"=hex:AA,BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,89

The RED numbers/letters MUST be entered into the ISS script in the [Registry] section, very easy to see where, as its only 2 lines. Otherwise when you try to start the game it will complain about invalid serial entered.
( The values made up in the script are just that invalid ) ;)

Edit the KEY; ValueType: Binary; ValueData: AA BB CC DD EE FF 00 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 89 in the '[REGISTRY]' of TKOH.iss replacing them with the hex key from your registry.

What has been done: corrected all registry's to Bohemia Interactive Studio, including autorun.iss (tarzan_gk), restored original directory startup groups (possibly failure to update patches in future patches if left to original script), set compression from lzma/ultra to none (tarzan_gk).
Corrected registry serial no from " ValueType: String; ValueData: {{AA,BB,CC,DD,EE,FF,00,11,22,33,44,55,66,77,89}}" to "ValueType: Binary; ValueData: AA BB CC DD EE FF 00 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 89"
Sorry Pakrat you assigned the serial number to a string value rather than binary data as in the registry, I've removed "{{" "}} that enclosed the serial, think it's something to do with checking if it's already there.
Please be kind to me with any comments or corrections as I've learnt most of my innoscript from everyones 'Helpful' comments on this thread.
If people here didn't lose there temper with their comments you all might have worked it all out! Respect to Pakrat2k2 & everyone, keep up the conversions!

*Main Pakrat conversion now with corrected conversion

pakrat2k2 19-11-2011 19:59

no problem.. just a few typo's in MY ISS script obviously..

look at my reg entry for win7
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\Take On Helicopters]

and as for removing the "{{" "}} that were in the ISS script, simply meant that the values inside brackets are binary, so no need to say that its binary again, just leave it as string.

remove serial in {{ }}

Smokie 20-11-2011 02:22

Hi pakrat, I'd like to learn from you,if you don't mind :-)
I've win xp x64 & inno setup 5.4.2 with quickstart pack.
When I compiled your script and installed the serial number imported into my registry as a string "{ AA,BB,CC,DD ...".etc., rather REG_BINARY,the only way I could correct this for my setup was by setting the "Valuetype: BINARY;" and removing the commas. Is it a compatability problem with my win xp x64 and\or inno setup or did I miss a hex?

Thanks for the reply in advance.
