Actually your wrong with the Edit.

Its upto the ISP as its their service and their line they are leasing to you, you dont own the line remember, and if they choose to ban you for say browsing and downloading from a well known warez source they can.

But yes you are free to browse when and where you want to, but if its questionable they will come down heavy.

And most ISP's TOS is so full of holes it protects them from changes made, basically the biggest hole they have that you agree to (which 99% of people dont really read) is they say they will give you speeds UPTO the amount your leasing, i.e. they are not guarenteeing top speed and also gives them a leeway to throttle you whenever they see fit.

Look at Virginmedia in the UK the biggest loophole users ever.

here it's the same sh*t.... Telefonica here too... but I'm from Brazil... nowadays I can olny access CD-2-DVD.com using a webproxy... the only problem is that we can't download files useing webproxies... isn't it?

You can download via proxies, but some proxies are limited in connection speeds that large files may take longer to download.

After all to view a webpage your downloading information from a server to view it.

I live in Spain and am a telefonica client, as far as i know, no websites are blocked in spain by telefonica, hell i´m the developer and one of the owners of cd-2-dvd.com and never had any trouble accesing it so it must be a southamerica policy : /

Yes cd-2-dvd.com is Offline and will remain offline for quite some time or maybe even for good.

In short: the maintainers (e.g. Grumpy) ran out of resources (time, money, motivation). However, information from there is being migrated into the CD/DVD Conversion forum here.

Yeah, I found the list here, I was just curious.

Yeah, I ran out of money so I couldn´t afford the server anymore, Grumpy didn´t have that much time and we had an error on a script which prevented us from editing or posting new stuff which none of us could figure out.

There´s a chance we are coming back, I´m currently looking at the state of the site in our backups within the new server.

for the record, cd-2-dvd.com is now back online

I have yet to see an ISP who would deliberately block certain web sites. They need us and we want full service or else...
