Those Carbon cracks were FAKE!

They were little more than existing cracks realigned and version numbers changed. If you want to use them, fine, but they are not 'real' cracks!

How come? There are NO other cracks for KotOR 2 v2.1, they couldn't steal from someone because there were NO other cracks for 2.1. And they were the only guys who bothered to crack the patched version, because the retail KotOR 2 is practically unplayable on some machines. For that, I thank them.
Maybe some other Carbon cracks are fake but this one isn't, because I finished the game like two times with it and it's proper.

It's the NOGRP cracked EXE modified so it 'looked' like a crack for the update!

And how come all the bugs fixed in the update are also gone when using this new crack? I mean, if it is a 1.0 crack, shouldn't it anull all the fixes from the patch, since all fixes are contained in the main EXE?

There were lots of data files updated, some bugs can be fixed that way! The retail crack works with the patched game as I just reinstalled, patched and copied the v1.0 crack across, game works fine!

I personally don't trust those Carbon cracks, and a few other respectable people on this forum didn't too. But, if it works for you and you're happy with it then that's fine with me :)

It's not that I don't believe you ;) , I just know Carbon successfully cracked some updates for e.g. Civ 4, so I don't think it is too hard to crack a SecuROM 7 game if they are experienced crackers... however if this is really masked 1.0 crack, it would be nice if someone crack the real v2.1... SecuROM 7 titles are pretty common these days and it should be too much trouble...

Mostly these Carbon cracks were fake. Civ 4 also had Safedisc which is a lot different from Securom.

Civ 4 cracks were stolen, along with all their other cracks :)
