But why does WinXP closes the DOS window so fast and etc?

WinXP is built on WinNT not DOS as earlier versions of Windows were. The command prompt is a DOS emulator in a way, it doesn't directly translate to the kernel, as DOS did. So, usually these type of commands must be run from batch files or from the command prompt themselves.

Added Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal no-cd (for v2.5.26498)

Joe Forster/STA 24-07-2006 10:49

@eloj: Can I ask you to spend another few minutes of your life with writing one-sentence readmes for each of your cracks and then uploading them to GCW via http://ul.gamecopyworld.com ? :) Thanks in advance!

eloj 24-07-2006 10:56

I really don't feel confortable with that as they stand now, maybe if I rewrite them with a bit better error handling and the ability to revert patches. (As for BG2, I'd like to add the 26499 beta patch).

Since I have the rest of the Infinity Engine games too I should probably produce one archive with no-cds for all of them at the latest patch-level, including BG1, BG1:TotSC, IWD1 and IWD1:HoW.

Also...I found BG1 crack for xxxxx21 version but its for BG1 only without the expansion. I have BG1 + Swoard Coast and YET its version xxxxx21. It seems a crack for BG1 + Sword Coast version xxxx21 does not exist. I used the one for BG1 only and it worked (the MISSION PACK loaded and I believe Mission Pack is the expansion).

Just my 2 cents...

Please, upload it to GCW via http://ul.gamecopyworld.com, too. Thanks!

eloj 01-11-2006 14:02

I did. Is there a way to know if it worked? The part to the right of the upload slots updated with a "green" sign after I pressed "Upload files", but no special "success" message or anything.

If I don't see it in a day or two I'll try again with a "less alternative" browser.

Joe Forster/STA 01-11-2006 15:54

If it doesn't appear within a day or two on GCW, that might also mean that Empire is simply with other things in his life... ;)

Or maybe he don't know how to categorize it/care. Anyhow, uploaded v1.1 in which I added the generic scanning patcher I wanted to do all along. This should catch any oddball versions out there, which pretty much closes this subject. Forever.

Code:

>infinitycracker --scan test.exe
InfinityCracker v1.1 by eloj

Invoking generic scanning patcher on 'test.exe'
GetLogicalDrives call located at offset 0x3094d
Original function prologue found at offset 0x308d2
File 'test.exe' cracked successfully.

perhaps :P

i cant seem to run the infinitycracker on my comp.
im using vista and it either immediately closes the program or, if i run it from the command prompt, simply say "no files processed." and all that but, gives me no options on the actual infinitycracker DOS.
it simply reverts to the command prompt.
sorry if im not explaining myself very well.
can anyone help?

BarryB 18-01-2008 04:06

Another year old thread resurrected!

Did you copy the infinitycracker.exe into the games directory? Have you tried the '--list' command and checked you have the relevant game/version installed? Have you tried supplying the filename of the game you want to crack? Did you read the 'Readme.txt'?

TippeX 18-01-2008 05:04

lol how can it be infinity patching if its a byte patcher? ;p

laboratominator 11-06-2008 01:09

it doesn't work on vista... the vista itself probably recognizes the program's purpose and function and closes it immediately... that's my best guess
