Because some people don't want to be hassled to insert the CD everytime they wish to change games that they are playing. It partly defeats the purpose of copying the game to your HD. Plus, people are afraid that their game might get scratched/damaged (accidents happen) and the protection won't recognize it anymore.

There can be many reasons why new securom titles don't run with original CD/DVD:

- Antiblaxx in Autostart (same as dooler's link)
- AnyDVD active (only with some titles)
- some freakin virus scanner blocking
- ...

My suggestion, for all of us, would be, if you think the person is using warez, report the post and don't reply. If you're not sure, try to help but don't start hurling potentially groundless accusations and/or insults. Let the admins do their job. It just makes it that much more difficult if they have to start banning the warez kiddies and everybody else :).

Yes rlsuth that's exactly what we mods like to see. If you see something fishy, just report it and we'll check it out. Almost always there are 2/3 mods roving the board anyway so even without a report we usually quickly see anything suspicious.
