What Are You Trying To Say Am I Right, Or You On About A Different Game Altogehter..

I was saying you are right when you said Win 2000 is more business related. When that OS was released was more focused for the big companies market not home users and that why some games tend to not work in Windows 2000. For the home market was Windows ME. and Whne Windows XP was released the NT technology was more adapted to be user home users and why some games works better in Windows XP than Windows 2000

Guv

Well, let me tell you what I did to get this game played on win2000.

First, u better do what Mojo said, convert the cds to dvd, although is not critical to edit the msi file, just to have the cabs together. To install the game you just have to type on star->run "d:\setup /a" supposing that the dvd is on drive D. It will install a server image [or smtgh like that]. Go next, then it will ask where to install it. And when u hit next it will stay there, copying files without telling you anything [u can see in the hard disk's properties how the HD is filling] It will install in whichever directory u specified three objects; an msi file, a directory called System with some archives begining with "msxml4", and a "program file" directory, which has all the files normaly installed.

It works almost wonderful with the mini image and the w2k loader available at CGW [I haven't tryed it out without the win2k loader]. I just find some perfomance problems, but I don't know if it's regarding mi pc's specs or the fact of getting it played under windows 2000. Many options won't turn-on having less than 256mb in the video card and in some options said that "an unknown value must be 280 to be available. Your system has 255". I can't figure out what's that value. Maybe RAM, I have 256 but the game said 255. Maybe is so. Also is silly, I have an Athlon running at 1906 of real mhz, but the game doesn't understand that it behaves like a +2600. It just said "you must have at least 2000 of mhz. Your system just have 1906" and it was like, "duh!".

Whatever, I hope that this could help those of us who didn't take notice on the "Requires WinXp to Run" info box =/

Resume: setup.exe /a + mini img + w2k loader

This file is part of the protection know as SmartE.
Just copy everything else from the CD and dont worry about this file. Since you will be using a NoCD crack you shouldn't need the file. ;)
