For those of you who still want to play Battle for Middle-earth 1 without the disc: I found a link for version 1.03 at Game Burn World

Joe Forster/STA 27-04-2007 15:14

Can you, please, upload it via http://ul.gamecopyworld.com?

File uploaded. I skipped that one, because the original link was posted on GCW(it was towards a russian site, that I think is related to RuGCW) and I thought you already posted.

Hi,

The LotR: Battle for Middle-Earth v1.03 [ENGLISH] No-DVD Patch 11-01-2007 by Bio (filename "LotR_BfME_1.03_NoDVD.rar"), hosted on GameCopyWorld at the following address:

here

includes in it a Downloader trojan (http://securityresponse.symantec.com...323-99&tabid=2)

There is no alternative game.dat file hosted on GCW for 1.03.

Hope this helps.

Man if people were to hang themselves at the sight of every false positives the world would be practically empty.

For other people if your AV says there is a Virii, try other free online scanners and test the file you will be suprised to see that they dont record a trojan.

And Norton AV is well known for scaremongering. It attempts to scare you with false positives in the hopes you will continue to stay with them, when in actual fact its one of the worse AV's out there.

But in fairness I scanned the file and some AV's reported a trojan, I had a closer look at the file but didnt find anything suspicious.

<yawn> Read the forum FAQ and the top of all game pages for infos on (falsely reported) viruses inside crack packages...

I dont think 8 AV's finding a trojan counts as a 'false-positive'

Like I said I had a look, and there is nothing suspicious with the coding.
