Toca 3

SF NIGHTMARE will do the trick, works fine for me

Hi there !

I bypassed Starforce as mentionned above : using VirtualDrive, tick "Disable IDE CD-ROM" in "Tools", mount with Daemon Tools 4.03HE and just run the game.

BUT, I get a problem when loading a race. Some are working (Professional mode or something like that), but the "Around The World" mode puts me an Austrian circuit on loading screen and then just crashes, back to Windows.

Any idea ?

Thanks in advance ;)

It seem that if you only have one h.d and nforce4 the game works ok. The problem seems to be for other nforce users is the raid controller.

Starforce can tell if there's anything on the end of it. No raid, no problem. It works for me fine without unplugging, just disabling pata controller in device manager is all that's required.

I just got this game today. I have an image of the game (MDF) and mounted it to Daemon Tools 4.00HE, installed the game (full install). From there I just clicked on the shortcut, it said something about installing copy protection (I imagine that it installed some rootkit) then I rebooted. Then since the image was still mounted in Daemon Tools I just played and it worked.

I just have an AMD Athlon 3000+ socket A (not 64bit) with 1Gb RAM, 128Mb 6600GT AGP, 1 × 36Gb Raptor on SATA1, 1 × 250Gb on SATA2, 1 × 120Gb on IDE1, 1 × DVDRW on IDE2, etc.

Another info : my Toca 3 works with the last beta NVidia driver (84.12 I believe), but it doesn't with the last official driver (81.92 I believe).

PS : has anyone experienced problems with this game when trying to launch the "World Tour" mode ?

Windows XP and SP2 shouldn't be a problem; read the FAQ on some more tricks. As for re-enabling your CD-ROM drive, use the same software with which you disabled it.

You mentioned that you just got the game and installed using 4.00 HE. I just got the game also and have it installed. Must I uninstall it first, then reinstall from the .mdf file that is created using 4.00 HE?

Many thanks

You've confused me? Please tell me, how did you create a MDF using Daemon Tools? :D

If you have it installed then mount your MDF in Daemon to play!
Read the FAQ to find out how to mount images.

Well I am new at all this, so bare with me. I bought TRD3 and installed it, then began research on how I could play it without having to put the DVD in my drive all the time. Then I downloaded DT, VD Pro and AL120% to see how they would work. I made an image with both VD and AL120% and still have the orginal install of TRD3

If I'm understanding your right, I should just be able to mount the original mdf and play using DT is that correct?

Many thanks for the help...

This, normally, wouldnt work ;)
As mentioned multiple times in here, you have to disable your internal, phyiscally available IDE drives by unplugging the power cable.
Otherwise you need a huge amount of luck to achieve this :)

Hmm, I thought I had read that using VD Pro and selecting diable IDE drives then mounting an image would work, not true?

My confusion is whether I need to completly uninstall my original install and then reinstall using an image file, then mount using DT.

Yes, I did, but have since uninstalled everything and am back running with the DVD in the drive. I felt it really screwed up my system. It did work and here's what I did.

First dowloaded a trial of Alchohol 120% and made an image of the gamed. Next downloaded Daemon Tools and tried to mount the .mdf file, that did not work, so I downloaded a trial of VD Pro and made another image with it. Then if you go into VD PRO and use it's "diaable" cd-rom function, you can then mount the .mdf image and it will work. With Daemon Tools, there is a constant advertising bar that is always at the bottom of the screen, that I did not like, as it was constantly loading stuff all the time.

I'd be interested in hearing feedback from anyones experiences with sucess..
