How the **** should I know? Fact: even ppl with a LEGITIMATE purchased version of F.E.A.R have problems with it. That's how it is.

That's the real issue. It could be anything. Ppl from VU-forum reports that "blablabla works perfectly to fix the blabla problem". Some solutions tend to work, some don't. It seems that nothing from that forum is helping everyone. Bottom line: VU has to work the problems out. Pirating or legitimate, I'm sure securom isn't making things better. Maybe not worse, but definatly not better.

Anyone knows if there's been any updates to any no-cd for v1.02? I don't dare to try any right now, cuz I don't wanna mess up my game.

One thing that kinda works...
After patching to v1.02 Make a folder named BACKUP in your FEAR Directory, anc move FEAR.exe and FEARE_2.Arch00 into it. Then use a cracked 1.01 or 1.0 EXE and you'll be able to play. It will still say v1.01 in the corner though :/

Also, would u care to be more specific? From where should the game be run? And shall the crack be used in BACKUP or what?

lol if you move the fear_2 archives the patch was in vein...
the file contains any fixes or new textures or whatever you install with this patch...why putting it away? so you shouldnt even install the patch ;)

I have a 7.1 surround sound sound card and i cant get fear or call of duty 2 to play in dts or surround and i can only select 2d sound does any1 know what i can do

lol this method doesn't work for me, or am i doing sth. wrong?? So, is it able to make the game playable without my orig disc, after i installed patch 1.02? So, i hoped the way above it would work, but it didn't! So please give me/us a detailed discription of how you made that and which crack you used!

@Diamond5100c: You may want to look around and see if some configuration needs to be done either in the sound card settings or the general audio settings of the operating system. Also, remember that this is NOT a general game support forum; you'd better ask the game publisher instead.

I have installed thr 1.02 patch and now I just have to play with the dvd stuck in the player... and I just can stand this!!!!!

Is there a way to execute FEAR directly from the hdd????????????

Create a maxi image of your original CD/DVD - see the "How to make maxi images" thread; use the SEARCH button -, mount it into the latest Alcohol 120% and then... play around... like physically unplug all CD/DVD-ROM's, run Anti-Blaxx or SR7.Stop or Virtual CD-Hide, perhaps, Starforce Nightmare, too...

And did you make it to work with any dvd in the drive and patch 1.02??
