looks like people going to have to start useing proxys when shareing and downloading in the US or use a fake id when setting up a high speed internet which unlike 56k u can use any one info u want but 56k lol who would want to share and d/l with that :eek:

This is what Im talking about with broadband kiddies. Not saying you are. But that is good for an example.

Broadband Kiddies prefer to download at full speed, they have the connection, but will refuse a 56k connection. As if its diseased or something.

Many people in the US and UK and pretty much everywhere else cant help being on 56k cause that is all thats available to them.

heh i have both bb and 56k ;) the 56k is for ebay use only i get 56k free unlimted 30 day tirals and i use to use 56k till about a year ago and belive me it sucks for d/l i never d/l any thing with my crapy 3.0 kbs d/l speed so i had to move to a place that had bb just to get it and now i love it i d/l at 500 kbs :D but the thing is now i have nothing to d/l :( i dont do moives much cause the quality is just so bad i wait till there on video then watch them.

and u can always get dish internet it will work ever were even were 56k dosent and it has d/l speeds of about 30kbs which is better then 56k at 5 kbs but not as good as cable though.

Its rather amusing. I'm a 56k user myself and I wouldn't have thought that a 56k user downloading from a broadband connection would seriously hinder their [broadband user's] internet connection.

I was meaning the other way around, them trying to get from a 56k user.

Say it was someone on a P2P progy, for arguments sake say Morpheus.

They look for one hard to song to get, and only one person has it, tis on a 56k guy.

They wont get it, cause its 56k and they dont want to wait long times to get it.

So they wait even longer till someone quick has it lol

The time they waited for that, they could have received it from the 56k guy.


People noticed this, and then you get the cheats, who put themselves on as a 56k but have a 8mb line or something, so he wont have to upload to people so his download speed is maxed rather than limited because of something uploading.

its amazing the kids dont realise that with broadband, they do have the ability to just sit and wait for the file to download.

it sucks, kids who have better net than me, and just don't use it to its full potential.

Going after kids for a scare tactic against other users is barbaric and immoral. This is the cold war of the internet. One side moves after the other, heavier laws more p2p networks. It's an arms race. Personally I like the idea of compitition, I just wish the government could pave the roads, feed the homeless, fix social security and our health care system before they raid my house because I didn't want to buy the whole White Stripes cd when 95% of it sucked. Hollywood can eat me. Most movies now suck anyhow, I got tired of walking out of them and demanding my money back years ago. Besides, if the movie was good enough they most likely made their money back by the second week. The rich will always protect their greatest interest, getting more money. Example, those Live 8 artist, think they did that concert to save Africa? Is Africa gonna be saved by rock shows? Lets get Bono to save the Middle East then. They just wanted the attention. People in power generally abuse that power to force their opinion on others. And who better to pick on than a 12 year old girl.
