Hey guys, I tried everything but it doesn`t work. It always says "Put the right CD into drive .....". Anybody knows a solution?

I can get it working with the 1.01 version but if I install the re-fuel patch the game seems to work but once the protection has done what it has to do, the game crashes to the desktop. Can anybody help me please, I am mad for driving the Seat Toledo since I am spanish.

here you go...this is the most elaborate explanation i could find
(ps - stolen frm another board :rolleyes: all credits due to the original author)

What you need
-Starforce Nightmare 1.12(latest)
-GTR game
-1.2.0.0 update
-1.2.3.0 hotfix update
-1.3.0.0 update
-a language pack for 1.2.3.0 if necessary.
-the GTR mini image
-alcohol 1.9.2 or Daemon tools(daemon tools is recommended)

You DON"T need the Ncry gtr.exe files, so u can just use the installation ones.

1) install Alcohol or Daemon tools,Starforce nightmare and the GTR game.
2) install the 1.2 update
3) install the 1.2.3 update
4) install the 1.3.0.0 update
5) install your language pack if necessary
6) Run Starforce Nightmare and click on "Disable Node" option(much better patch blacklist method than starf*ck.Changes will stay after reboot.)
7) Go to regedit and than go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\r oot\SYSTEM
find the last number.Somewhere you should find "Plug and Play BIOS Extension" or "PnP BIOS Extension".
"Plug and Play BIOS Extension" for Alcohol120%
"PnP BIOS Extension" for Daemon Tools
8) Now, Right click the number(s) and select "Permissions"
9) Click on the System group and set "Read" to "Deny"
10) With Starforce Nightmare prog,click on "Disable CDRoms" option and wait till the process finished.The changes will not stay after you reboot although the cdrom is still hidden.You need to "Disable CDroms" again after reboot.
11) Mount the mini image onto an alcohol or daemon virtual drive
7) Run gtr.exe in the game directory. It will probably ask you to reboot the first time, since this is where starforce is installed. Do it.
8) Run gtr.exe again, and it should work now.


Note - The "Disable Node" option in StarForce Nightmare functions as a blacklist patcher for virtual cdroms.

Thanks for your help, but I have tried it all and the results are the same, when the protection sistem is checking the disc, my computer freezes and I have to restart it. Can anybody help please? :confused:


P.D. I am sure that it is not beacuse of my computer not beeing good enough to play the game, because I can play when I have not aplied any updates.

Yep I've tried all the steps sugggested here and it still doesn't work. I'm getting the "place the CD rom in another drive and press ok" error. The funny thing is that it did work. The first time I played I ran nightmare, disabled the drives, mounted the mini image in demon tools and away I went after a quick reboot to install starforce.

I have a funny feeling that the time it failed to work was the time that I accidentally ran the game without disabling my CD rom drive first. It looks like the game has blacklisted demon tools somehow. I tried reinstalling demon tools, used starforce cleaner to remove starforce. But the problem persists. The disable node in nightmare didn't make a difference to me.

I'm still waiting for the English release...

It´s easy to solve.
Use Starforce Nightmare and press "DisableCD" and than deactivate the channels were your drives are hooked. For example 1 drive is the primary slave and the other is secondary master, so you have to press "Pr.S. Sc.M off" and wait everytime until "proceeded" is changing in Starforce Nightmare. Now press "Disable Node", but do not!!! hack the Registry manually, this version of Starforce dedect this operation and fucl<ed up. It´s important to undo all manually registryhacks befor starting; only the "Disable Node" Button must activated. Now mount a Mini-Image (use this, it work also with version 1.3) <deleted bullshlt> to newest Alcohol 120% or Deamon Tools 3.47 virtual drive. Start the game and type new key(hold Strg while starting) and play. It work 100%, everyone who said no do something wrong! 3 friends and i use this method and it works fine.

rasnarfire, you've broke the rules by linking to a file containing a serial number. Next time READ THE RULES!! (that's if you don't get your ass banned).

What? It´s not a serial number and no CD-key! I'm not guilty. No plan about the topic, what? It´s only the key for the protection. Where is the problem? Even in german moralistic boards this files can be linked without banning. Can I link the page, where this mini-Images can be downloaded, or is this forbitten too? I don´t read the rules because my english is not the best. Oh, that is the next reason to bann me!

rasnarfire, the file contained the CD-KEY for the game, providing CD-KEYS, SERIALS or LINKS to them is not allowed on THIS forum!

BTW, your typed English seems fine to me, so you at least have a pretty good understanding of English to make me understand what you typed, I bet my German is nowhere near as good as your English!

Please TRY to read the rules and ask questions if you don't understand any part of them. Maybe the rules need to be translated to other languages just to make it clearer for foreign visitors?

Is my english really so good? Ok, i explain it again: There is a difference between the CD-key for online playing and the SF3 key. Some games have a Starforcekey and a CD-key (f.e. GTR) and there is no hint in the rules that prohibit to post the SF-Key, because that´s only to start with the mini-image. Btw: Is it allowed to post the site, which offers the mini-images with SF-key? This is not directly linking.

Good idea to make the Rules multilingual. :D
