Any news?:) About the no-cd or more importantly a method to play without the cd?

There is a noCD crack now, but unfortunately, looks like it doesn't work.

The game doesn't start - upon doubleclick on the game icon, the mouse cursor turns into a sandclock for about half a second, then nothing.

Fresh game install, frash crack.
I tried terminating daemon tools.

Older crack ver. 1.02.1489 works on the same install.

any ideas ?

This also appears to be a 'REAL' 1.03 crack too! For example, in the Readme for the v1.03 patch new features have been added:

1. Added new chat/console function. In SP 'Enter' invokes the new system console. In MP 'Enter' invokes chat with the all allies, while 'Shift-Enter' - chats with all players.
2. Added new icons for human and AI castles in minimap. Players are able to rollover realms, which invokes info connected to the kingdom properties. The kingdoms are selectable in the minimap political mode.
3. Added game time, so player is able to see how long it took to conquer Europe (on/off via F11 Key).

All these 'new additions' are present with the 1.03 crack, but not when you use the Money 1.02 (Retail) crack. This proves, to me at least, the 1.03 crack is genuine :) However, it doesn't mean it's a *WORKING* crack though :p

Apparently, parts of the copy protection (those detecting thrid party software such as nero) have been left in place ?

The money crack did remove that.

I know these cracks will not work under Windows 98 SE, I tried. The Money crack asks for CD2 and the 1.03 crack just pops up the hourglass for a second and does not run.

Both cracks run OK under XP PRO with SP2.

well, I have SP2 and the money crack runs and the 1.03 (by iND) not.

Silly question, but did you apply the 1.03 update first? You probably have, but just checking ;)

All drivers up to date like DX9, Sound and Video? Not sure why it won't work for you while it works on my system.

I tried everything, the crack still isn't working.

I'm having the same problem you know. Windows XP prof sp2.
They told me it was because I had to install all of the Windows updates
except for KB917422. Now it still doesn't work and they don't know why:(

ok i had the same problem, i installed the game patched v 1.03 and then mounted the CD crack. and it would just give me the CD loading image and wouldn't load the game.

i then went to the Deamon tools web page. they have a listing of most games and their CD protection type (very useful in this case if you didn't know about it)

the CD protection type for KoH is Securom. you can turn it on by right clicking on deamon tools/ emulations/ Securom. make sure its checked and this might work for you as it did for me, i am also useing windows XP/SP2.

PS i also did not install/use the fixed .exe file for V1.03

Download the International patch 1.05 for English, French and German (Not for US), it REMOVES SECUROM!!
