This Alcohol120 is a strange beast. I made an image of disk 2 (Which the protection is on) using the Securom 4/5 settings. Upon reinstalling the game on my second machine from the the Alcohol created backup the installer kept asking for CD2 to be inserted. I came to the conclusion that CD2 must be SETUP protected, like the earlier Westwood games were, but on inserting a straight CD2 copy (original to desktop, then to cd), it installed fine. The CD label of the Alcohol created cd2 was 'needs emulation'. However, when you install Alhohol and enable RMPS the label goes back the correct 'Top_Spin_CD2', and the game runs fine. If I'm not making myself clear here what this means is in order to make a backup you need a Desktop normal image of cd's 1 and 2 to install, and an Alcohol image of CD2 in order to run the game. I'm surprised there hasn't been a fixed Launcher released, as it seems a fairly straightforward crack for the experts. If you like Tennis, you HAVE to get this game, it's easily the best Tennis game ever made. Although it's a port from the XBOX, and thus has the finnicky pre-game screens, the graphics, playability and shot control are out of this world. You can even lower your opponents skill by taunting him when you play well! It runs perfectly on my 2600, 1gb ddr 9700 pro non-overclocked setup.

I don't understand your problem about uploading the no-CD executable as a whole file (if that's what you meant; not entirely sure though) as that's how all other no-CD executables are being submitted to GCW, too.

If you _really_ wanna mess with pirates, ;) create a patch that converts the original executable to the no-CD executable. E.g. xdelta, http://sourceforge.net/projects/xdelta , is a very nice, FREE patch creator/applier. Actually, official updates of the game called The Thing are using this one instead of the usual RTPatch...

No, I mean in order to get the NOCD fix, I would have to download the entire WAREZ ISO, which I would find hard to do on principle, especially as I doubt that the NOCD fix would be included, otherwise it would surely have been posted on this site by now. I don't deal with stolen software, so I don't know the methods pirates use to enable you to run the software. I have searched everywhere for a NOCD fix, but then again I don't really have the knowledge of the best places to search. What narks me is all the C**P games that get cracks for them, yet this superb title has no fix (And probably never will have based on previous games of this ilk). Could somebody with knowledge of coding make one for me? I would pay £20.

Ok top spin does not need a no-cd crack. The game only has serial protection and thats when you install the game or try to play online.
Otherwise you can play single player without a cd or a cd crack

That must be the US version then, as ALL Euro versions use latest version of Securom. This is a FACT, as I have the original. Either the US release has no protection, which I find hard to believe being a co-Microsoft title, or the crack group blurb you are reading about means they have removed the Securom check on disk 2 before releasing it.


Oh, and if ANYONE has an original that has no Securom CD check, I will give you £50 cash in hand for it!

I have a multilanguage version which i think it is a european release and i dont need a cd in the drive to play the game

I see you've read the rules and edited your post accordingly :) So the games been cracked. How come we still don't have this fixed Launcher then? I would crack it myself if I wasn't such a stupid arsehole! IF the US version has no protection, would the Launcher work with the UK version? I'm like a dog with a bone for this M*********ER!

Wandering around those Nfo-sites, there is no crack at the moment. And those warezversion dynamit is editing around :D has no protection else as serial und cd check.

It's because it's a Tennis game. The groups think that's a saddo's thing. I love it, so I guess they're right! :(
