It seems to me that anyone who has a dodgy copy of a game either has it already cracked, or has the nocd on the pirate disc. Those asking for a NOCD (Like myself) have usually bought the game and want to back up their original, or play without the cd. It's a paradox that the crackers allow us to do this, but that's the way it is! Maybe GCW could employ a new system, and only forward the nocd to those who scan their receipt for said game, or show a digi photo of themselves with the game. I'm buying 'The Sims 2' on Friday, and would love to have a nocd/nodvd ready for when I get it. I know it's been ripped off all over the place, but I've already pre-paid for my copy, and will continue to do so, as I believe developers should get paid for their hard work. The ONLY reason I'm happy it's cracked is because..1.It means STARFORCE3 is not used, which I find a REAL pain, and 2.Hopefully we should see a nocd/nodvd for this title. Besides, with a pirate copy you don't know if the game works properly, and you don't get any instructions. It's much better to own a shiny new original of any game. I find it strange that a previous poster said they downloaded SIMS2 but hadn't got a nocd fix for it. I'm against this of course, but Does this mean none of the WAREZ versions are playable until someone makes a fix? Never having dealt with ripped software I'm not familiar with the system, and am obviously weary of talking about such things on this site. I just assumed Warez rips came with a nocd crack. Is this not the case?

There is a warez out there with just a perfect image of Sims 2. Often SafeDisc procted games are cloned to a perfect image and released in to warez. Just look at EastSideHocker Manager, (maybe) upcomming NHL 2005, but enough talk about warez and not warez things.

YOU CAN MAKE A PERFECT 1:1 IMAGE AND EMULATE IT. ALL BACKUP EMULATE AND THINGS ARE IN OUR GUIDES. READ IT AND LOVE IT!

Are you saying that The Sims 2 uses a current version of safedisc that Daemon tools or Alcohol could mount successfully? Usually when a big title is released (Which The Sims2 is, whether you are a fan of this type of game or not), that game uses the latest version of securom or safedisc, which blacklists all current image mounting tools. Maybe EA Games reckon that this title will be in such demand, that it will be ripped whatever protection they use, and so aren't too concerned about it. After all, this WILL be the biggest selling title on the PC this year, and I include Far Cry and Doom3 in this. I think it's because the title also appeals to the ladies out there. I'd still like a nocd fix when I buy it on Friday though, as I don't like having originals or Image tools on my machine.

does anyone know what protection it will use, or to be more specific, will it use Starforce 3?

It is protected with SafeDisc 3.20.020. Any removal solutions?

Look at this:

Hardly doubt that EA Games change to Sony SecuROM.
If they use latest SafeDisc it can be emulated. Deamon Tools have been undected in very long time, without any updates/upgraded releases!

t.foster73 13-09-2004 15:25

So can the latest version of Daemon cope with SafeDisc 3.20.020, if indeed this is the version that is used?

sebas2398 13-09-2004 16:08

I've tried...

I've tried making a backup copy with Alcohol then using Daemon...maybe I'm dumb but it didn't work....

It's safedisk 3.020.xxx

And you guys?

Admin:Suggest closing this thread until Wednesday, when the game is released in the US. Only then will we get proper protection info, and not hearsay from Warez monkey's! We want to hear feedback from people making Virtual drives from their ORIGINAL DISKS, not pirates trying to run dodgy rips.

p.s.Far Cry was Safedisc 3.20.022, so I fail to see how The Sims 2 would use an earlier version than this. That doesn't make sense at all. It's more than likely a brand new version that blacklists current mounting tools.

Thread tidied up. NO WAREZ PEOPLE!!!!!!!

SafeDisc 3.2 could be emulated! ;)
And I don't have the game, so don't know the protection or the emulation. Just saying it can be emulated if it's SafeDisc, the game is releasing far from this day in Sweden. :/

Anyway have nothing against if someone closing this topic.

Hopefully I get it tomorrow.

Luci 14-09-2004 11:57

wtf???in greece it'll come in december...

t.foster73 14-09-2004 12:05

I believe you need a high end cpu and graphics card to run this game well. All EA Games need loads of patches before they run well, and this will be no exception.

coolnhl_dot_nl 14-09-2004 12:11

Is the game not releasd in the UK?

Over here in the Netherlands the game hit the stores today.
