hi!, well, i'm a little newbie to this, i have that problem about the selfboot thing and not recognizing the controllers and hell slow, but you mentioned that it can be fixed, now that's great news! i'm a little newbie on this, i have an hexeditor, i looked for those values inside the 1st_read.bin, but i could find any of those 2, maybe i'm doing something wrong, a wrong search, etc.
can any1 post a tutorial for this? i just do the default echelon method , and my msinfo is always 0,11700, i dunno if that matters, anyways, can someone help me please? |
Well judging form what Megalexxx and hrb2k wrote, burn the audio session, then when you are going to make the iso for the 2nd session, skip the binhacking part since you say you always get an LBA of 11700. then follow the rest of the selfboot procedure.
If you already binhacked you 1st_read.bin, delete it and get another from your working disc. And remember, DO NOT binhack the 1st_read.bin. |
iok changed the music, then i burned the audio session, then , i skipped the binhack part,. I made the iso, then i did ipins.exe, then burned the 2nds session, and it didn't worked, it just resets after the sega screen :(
|
when it reset, did it flicker then reset, or did to fade to the dc main menu?
also, what was the lba of the second session? |
it flickers , it tries to laod it again. and i dunno how to get the lba of the second session, i just know about after every time i burn the 1st audio session my msinfo is 0,11700.:(
can you peeps help me? look, i'll do it in here too :p 1st, i used isobuster for extracting files from the original ssf2x, then i changed the music. after that , i burned the 1st audio session , my msinfo it's as usual, 0,11700. and now, i have to...... |
sounds like an lba problem. are you sure your lba is 11700 after the first session? try using -msinfo in cdrecord.
|
there you have a pic about it.
http://www.iespana.es/MrQQQ/3rdS/msinfo.gif so, what's next then? |
ok, i did this and it worked for me. do this,
extract the bootbins (1st_read.bin, 2_dp.bin, maigo.bin, sg_dpldr.bin) from your working cd of ssf2x. put them in the 'data' folder extract the IP.BIN from the cd with megalexxx's tool. i (forgot the name of it). :( put the IP.BIN in the 'selfboot' folder. in the 'data' folder, right-click 1st_read.bin. select COPY. in the 'selfboot' folder, put the cursor on the background and right-click>PASTE. a copy of the 1st_read.bin should now be in the selfboot folder. right-click the 1st_read.bin and select, properties> uncheck READ-ONLY. click OK. BINHACK that 1st_read.bin in the 'selfboot' folder. type, 1st_read.bin>ip.bin>11700 delete the 1st_read.bin in the 'selfboot' folder. now, you are all set. make an .iso out of the 'data' folder. when its done, IPINS the data.iso with the IP.BIN. if you haven't done it already, burn the audio.raw, then the data.iso. when its finished, load the cd in your dc. i did exactly these steps and it worked for me. if it doesn't work for you, then i don't know what else to try. maybe its the new music files..a file check protection...maybe??? good luck. :D |
heeeeyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaa:D
it worked! you guys are muy f****ing heroes! thnx!!!:D :D :D :D :D |
sounds great. so how does the new music sound?
|
it sounds nice!, i changed the music into HSF2/CPS1 versions of them...sounds damn cool! if peeps are still getting probs with this, i'm going to share, no prob! just dunno how, i mean, kazaa sucks for that, i can't make torrents 'cause i don't have a tracker or sth like that...neither have an ftp account :(
i have plenty of games for sharing, most of them with music changed (3rdS, ssf2x now hehe, mvc2, cvs2, gigawing2, zero gunner2, etc...) if anyone is interested, just talk to me and that's all! hehe :) (although it would be better if someone can lend me a hand for uploading them somewhere..) |
talk about reactivating an old post. But does anyone have a definitive way to make this game Selfboot. Be it making an\ selfbooting CDi file, or creating an ISO then burning a 2 session CD with the ISO and the audio.raw file. If anyone has consistently extracted the data from a selfbooting CDI of this game and created another selfbooting version in either of the ways I described then can you please post how step by step. Thanks.

Try that last method posted by hbr2k, that's the one that worked for me...i've succesfully changed ssf2x music into classic sf2 cps-1 tunes from HyperSF2 with no probs.
