I can understand why games companies want to stop people ripping off their games, it just seems to be the legitimate buyers who seem to suffer most. Still, what's new there?

TippeX 08-03-2004 14:31

heh i dont think jowoot can add more to their anti debug
with their recent games, i think they've more or less thrown in everything possible.. svkp, xtreme protector, securom, triggers etc etc.. and of course, they didnt stop the crackers, they just ended up in pissing off the ppl who legitimately bought the game and couldnt get it to work

hello!!!

you have still not answerd my question....can I find anywere a "ganglang" no cd crack ???? I found an "against Rome" no cd crack in megagames.
Please answer this and then keep on fighting

t.foster73 09-03-2004 01:46

Like we said, Gangland uses Starforce3, so it may take a little while for a crack to become available. The game got bad reviews (Even though I think it's quite good), so maybe the crack groups will give it a wide birth. As soon as I find a Crack (and IF), I will let you know.

thecrow-realone 10-03-2004 07:44

i ive heard the starforce can be cracked
it just takes more time and its diffucult

so many are to lazy and avoids starforce 3 games

well maybe this is the challenge real crackers need ?

cause if they give up
then all new games will be starforce protected soon

i just wanna play gangland and im broke...

so hurry op please lol

ps against rome has a crack out on mega games now
but a freind told me its uses starforce 2
is starforce 3 that harder to crack ?

t.foster73 10-03-2004 14:30

I have a few Starforce 2 games, and Alcohol120 can play them with emulation, but not Starforce3. I think it's more than an update to Starforce2, and is a lot harder to crack. As you say, the fewer Starforce3 cracks there are, the more tempting it will look to game developers. There is no question that crackers can rip anything given time, but that's the idea behind many of these new protections. They make such subtle alterations to the game code (Guns jamming, Key cards that can't be found), that checking any crack works correctly is going to take a lot more time, and there can be a lot of PC releases at certain times of the year (The next 3 weeks being a prime time for games). If EVERY Starforce3 game has to be cracked in a different way, I suspect we will only see cracks for the really big titles, if at all! In fact, if these new protections only set the crackers back a few weeks, then that will make them successful to some degree, as this is the time most stolen software is sold/ripped off.

thecrow-realone 10-03-2004 15:48

yes im afraid ur right there...

i like this game so bad im trying to raise cash for it eventhough im kinda broke at the moment..

but the fear of loosing my investment cause i cant make a safety back up andŽa few scratches would stop the game from playing

considerations like that

is why i probably wait until a "fixed" one is out

then i could buy the game later and suport the developer and play my safety back up..

but i might be soo mad at them i might not buy it at all

time will tell

no safety back up - no sale

There seems to be some confusion about the warez/cracking scene and it's motivations so I will attempt to clear these points up.

Rips, ISOs, clones and cracks will be made regardless of how much we like or dislike a game. We release everyhing we can in accordance with proper scene rules.

The proper crack scene does indeed strive to support personal backups or else it would not be nearly as large as it is. If we only made cracks for the ISO scene we'd be fairly obsolete as the ISO scene makes their own cracks and any ISO release that requires a separate crack would be nuked. Granted, with the latest technologies our work is becoming a more difficult and lengthy process, but have no illusions, everything gets released.

As of this writing there is no crack for Gangland, so stop asking.
There are a lot of bright people working on it and it will be pre'd when it's done. As for the people who say Starforce 3 can't be cracked, you can take this to the grave: every protection now and forever will always be crackable. As long as we hold everything needed for the application to function in our hands, we can strip out or work around the protection. It may be a mind numbingly long and hard task but it can be done.

With new protections making each CD unique however, the prospect of making a standard no CD crack for your originals is questionable, but we will do our best.

There are so many people running around saying it's the end of warez, etc. it is the end of nothing. Don't expect us to crack everything in 5 minutes. We're not dealing with the same protections we have for so many years. We are the innovators in this field, and because we hold the finished media in our hands we have the upper hand. What man makes, man can and will unmake.
