just go with an xbit or an x2
its been sooo long already

no ive been told not to get a xbit or any non solder as they move easily and now i got a soldering iron i think i can do a proper job!

rms2001 15-03-2004 05:48

X2 all the way. Easy to install, easy to work with, and easy to upgrade later.

seaneyb2003 15-03-2004 07:16

yea i like the way u solder the wires on buttttt i wanna use the underside d0 point that is not possiable without the pinheader install.

on the other hand duo looks easy and is alot cheaper!

rms2001 15-03-2004 07:52

Who says you cant solder to the ALT D0 if you do a wire install? The XBox dose not care. Who ever told you that is full of it.

I use to do the ALT D0 when I installed chips before I got brave and started doing the top D0. It works fine with wire installs.

ok what should i do extend the wire i dont think it will fit round the mobo?

i donno what to get now. i think i will stick with the duo x.

rms2001 15-03-2004 08:13

You will only need to extend the wire if you have a v1.0 board and the LPCs are fulled. Other than that the D0 wire fits nicely thru an open LPC and is long enough.

yea i know i got a v1 u know the holes filled with solder all i need to do is touch the lpc holes and dunk in the wire? and then it makes a good bond yea?

or i could desolder a hole? nah it could damage it i think but still i could extend. i donno man look what u done im in 2 minds to get a duo x or a x2 lite????

rms2001 15-03-2004 08:44

Ya, 1.0s are easy to mod. Just heat the solder up and when you see its hot push the wire in and pull your soldering iron away.

Its not really hard to extent the D0 wire. Most people use the other D0 wire thats used for header pin installs. Solder the two ends together and tape them or use heat-shrink to insulate them.

okies im still debating if i should get a x2 or a duox i donno i heard that the duo x is superiour to the x2 i think i get the duox caus of the booting procidures

I'd go with what ever one you fell is better. I my self like the X2, never even herd of the duo x.

I like the fact the X2 has external switches for on / off, bank 1 & 2, and a BIOS protect. Even an LED that tells you if the chip is on or off.

www.duomodchip.com i got the duo chip in my ps2 and its v good and ive heard duo x was good as well www.ukmodchips.biz

Duo-X is a fantastic chip. It's no surprise that some peeps havn't heard of it cos its brand new.

Its the easiest xbox mod to fit and the easiest to disable for xbox live. The sexi blue LED (gimmick) tells you straight away that your install is good.

To enable the chip, boot up with the reset button (no need to long press like the Aladdin) & to disable the chip, boot with the eject button instead. With the chip enabled, the xbox logo is blue.

Within a month of the Duo-X arriving in the UK, X2 prices have dropped by a third.............. what does that tell you?
