the merge u sent is the same one i made!!

I've been reading on some sites they were making backup dvd games on cd-r's just by taking out the movie files and replacing them with dummie files, so that it would fit the 700MB cd-r. Is it possible to do the same with a 9dvd game to a 5 dvdr? Just by taking out some movie files and replacing them with dummie files?

that's good, I tought you made it wrong, so I uploaded it.

most of files in disk1&2 are common, so you can delete uncommon files from disk1 project and add files that needed for disk2 or just start new project and add files like the disk2 filelist in that guide.

Btw. it seems that iso files in your pc are associated with winrar, so they have rar icon. :)

so i have to go through the guide and add all thoes files indivudaly? that will take forever!

TylerDurden 05-03-2004 15:51

It sure would. ;)

But unless someone takes the time to make a bat file with basically all the same info except with actual directories then you got to do it manually.

Tyler!

i believe i made the correct image for disc 2. i was woundering if someone would tell me how big it should be so i dont make a coaster and one other thing! i cannot merge the files with the merge i previously made!

khafan 05-03-2004 18:54

If you added the files exactly like that guide with correct LBA value then your disk2 should be ok.
also like disk1, the name of image parts should be "image" otherwise that merge.bat doesn't work, like this:
image.000
image.001
image.002
image.003

eakinsme 06-03-2004 07:50

ok thats what i did wronge. but now can you tell me how big disc 2 should be? and one other thing. how does the 2nd disc load? does it load to the same thing that disc one loads to?
thanks a lot!

khafan 06-03-2004 08:25

sorry, I don't have this game yet, so I can't tell you the size of disks.
disk2 will load to the game menu like disk1 and you should start game from your last disk1 save.
there's a note about swap point in that rip guide, in certain point in disk1, you should save your game and then load disk2 and continue from that point.
