Thanks Ottoman,

I just thought buying the most expensive dvd-r's (in this case verbatim's) would work ok.

I'll try the datasafe's when they are delivered and let you know.

Thanks for all of your help,
Rob.

Thanks for your reply Sawdust,

I've just ordered some ARITA RITEK G03 ocerprints from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk. They're even cheaper then ebuyer. I really hope these do the trick, has anyone else had experiences with these discs.

Is there a big difference between G03 and G04.? Should i go for G04 instead of G03.?

Thanks again,
Rob.

low610 04-03-2004 01:41

My burner can go up to 8 speed but i've only ever tried copying the gamed at 2.

I've got the NEC 2500A.

Not sure if this has any bearing but i've got the Matrix DNS3 V10 chip. I have been advised by the installer that it's probablly a loose wire off the chip.

Unless you guys can think of anything.?

Thanks,
Rob.

That's probably your problem. I had a similar case where my PS2 worked for awhile after I got it modded, but after it stopped working and led me to the RSOD. I got it fixed later and found that it was either a wire loose or a bad modchip. The installer changed the modchip and now it works perfectly! :D Don't give up hope! It's probably a wire or the chip! (Most likely the wire coming off!) Have Fun! and Good Luck!

Tried both Verbatim and Datasafe/Ritek GO4, both work superbly! If anything, the Verbatim are even quieter than the Ritek/Traxdata/Datasafe (Very strange, not a lot of difference, but I did notice some).

I've just tried a tested copied game on my console and i still got the red screen. So i must be the chip/wire.

I'll keep you posted after i've had the console checked.

Rob.

All sorted,

It was a loose wire on the board that caused the problem. The chip installer resovled within minutes.

Just one more question. i'm using the Arita Ritek G03 discs that back up the games with no issues. I have noticed that the console seems to be working that little bit harder when reading them. Do you think i'd be better off using the G04 discs instead. I obviously don't want to wear out the console early. :-)

Many thanks for all of your help on this one and thanks for all of your help to date.

Rob.
