Pretty much all you will find in the stores are v9 and v10. If you can find a v7/v8 get one(that is if you dont care about a quiter fan, progressive scan, or a built in IR sensor).

If you want a v7, just get an "Online Pack" they are still v7's for the time being.

Anyways, you can make sure by looking for the SCPH #. If its 3000x then get it. If its 5000x then its probably a v9/10

Bighap and Tyler.. whats wronge with the version 9 and 10 ps2s? from what i have heard they are the best ones out.

A lot of v9s have been crapping out after being modded. Some blame it on the chip's code(most likely), some on the sensative v9 system. Plus you have more chip options on a v7. If you don't care about the extra features get a v7.
