I see no problem for the old versions of CloneDvd.

But i don't know what is with new versions.

i dont mean to beat a dead horse but then we're back to what i was talking about before. If you can "rip" a copyrighted movie with it, then i'm surprised they can release it.

CloneDVD cannot decode CSS protected dvds so therefore it avoids any legal issues. CloneDVD is from the Elby team.

Anydvd will decode CSS on the fly - Anydvd is from the Slysoft company in Atigua.
Slysoft recently "acquired" CloneCD from Elby

so, to rip a dvd would that mean you'd need to decode the CSS? I'm curious to know cause then maybe my friend had anydvd installed after all. But if you dont need it to rip a dvd then maybe he didnt.
