Now here it is....
The DC-X to play Import* Games!

How it works:
Please read exactly the instructions, otherwise you won't
understand how it works and what this is....
. .
___|---==°°° Info°°°==-----------------------------------------------|___
| |
DC-X to play Import* games

1) Switch off you DreamcastTM Console.
2) Insert the DC-X CD.
3) Switch on your DreamcastTM. After a few seconds you will
see the DC-X logo with the "Remove Disc" screen.
4) Remove the DC-X CD.
5) Insert the import game you wish to play and close the
CD cover.
6) The game will now run. If it does not then
you will need to see the Special Cases below.

Special Otions screen:

Selected game titles will not run using the above steps.
If the game does not run;

1. Repeat steps 1 to 4
2. Before inserting the Game CD, press any button
on your controller.
3. Insert your game CD you wish to play and close the
CD Cover - the Special Options screen will appear.

Cable Type:

VGA adaptor/RGB scart/AV Mono.
It is not important that you do not have the cable
speciefied - this is only to"switch" the console to the mode
the game needs to play in.

TV Mode:

NTSC/PAL.

*Note: The term Import Game refers to using a game not
originally designed for play on your console - i.e.
Japanese and American games on a Pal European Console,
European Games on a Japanese or American Console etc.

* SO THIZ RELEASE WILL NOT WORK WITH YOUR COPIED STUFF!!!

It is hard to find, but why the hell is it so big? 32 x 20MB

I have the original and it doesnt work with backups indeed. Its a black CD/GD (similar to a playstation 1 disc). But maybe if some1 can inject its 60hz code into an utopia bootdisc or in a game it would be very cool as this DC-X boots EVERYTHING that works 60hz including WinCE games.

108dragon 15-02-2003 05:07

With the DC-X, on a PAL DC, do games boot up with the orange DC logo NTSC boot start up (like action replay in ntsc mode) when selecting 60Hz mode or is still blue(normal)?

Games running 60Hz normally on a PAL DC output PAL60 (I think).
Action Replay in 60hz (when it works) outputs NTSC. On my TV PAL60 form the DC has a funny colour shimmering/pulsing effect that can get irritating after time. With AR in NTSC mode, games that normally out 60hz anyway doesn't have the shimmering any more.

So I hope it output NTSC and not just PAL60.

Why is the rip so big!!!

roBx^ 15-02-2003 16:48

Well when u press a button right after putting the game in during the blue screen (yea this menu isnt listed or anything) u get a screen where u can choose VGA, TV out or scart mode along with a PAL and NTSC mode... no pal 60 listed here. I never have problems using either pal 60 or plain ntsc they feel 100% identical to me. The DC-X itself boots up w a blue logo.

btw my GS doesnt have a switch and boots 50hz (and a funky red logo).. its usa ver. However it was 10 euro.. thats not expensive for a memorycard + cheat features :D

Thanks for the info.

I'd imagine for most people PAL60 and NTSC output would be identical, but my TV is a bit old and thats how it (and I've read other people's also ) handles PAL60.

i don't know why its so big... maybe the fact that its a black GD (i think it is as pc cant read it) has something to do with it The cd only has 1 or 2 screens. when its inserted it makes a bit noise (it spins v fast) for 2 seconds and then stops loading to show a image that u can put the game in.

Does anyone knows if Marvel VS Capcom 2 boots at 60Hz with this Bootdisc?

HANS_COBBO 17-02-2003 14:12

Yes, i have the JAP original version of the game and a original DC-X boot disc. Boots up in full Screen, full Speed on my PAL DC.
