Don't see anything to differentiate the burnables from the non burnables.I havent defragged lately, but I probably need to .Have you ever encountered the locking up scenario before?

I did on DVD writer but that was due to too many burners on IDE bus ( confused my poor overworked duron 800 ). Does it happen if you are just doing a simulated burn??

Thanks for the response......I just now learned about the simulated burn,I was experimenting with the demo version that didnt have these options. After I unlocked it I, tried the simulated burn and got the same results. I even tried clonyxxl, and transferred its recommendations to the burn, again with the same results.
I assumed that older playatation games(psx) were all burnable.Could I just happene to have some that cannot be copied?I now have quite an impressive coaster collection.........:)

Evidentally this is indeed a hardware problem, but I have never experienced anything remotely similar. After trying cdrwin, nero, clonecd, and finally clonyxxl,I decided to remove my burner from my 1.6 gig pc,and put in my wifes old 633 celeron box.I had another copy of cdrwin on it,and the damn game burned just fine. Why my 1.6 will burn music cd's,and most playstation games, but balk on some others is a mystery.Sometimes it just wont send any data from the hdd to the burner.I have no clue why......Thanks to everyone for trying to help,I really appreciate it................:)

copy problems

if you are connecting your audio cable from your burner to your sound card that could cause problems...
