right i copied whole cd dir to my hdd.
added the cracked setup.exe..
burnt it onto cd using EZ CD..
i uninstalled my Dune..
i tried to install with *backup* and it said plz insert correct cd..

do i need to change anything else?

Where did yoe download the cracked setup.exe?

Hey can someone tell where to get the cracked setup.exe?easy man with which speed did you read the cd to hdd?

can somebody give a little more detail about over writing the game file. can't find which folder it is in once the cd is copied to my hard drive. also what was that about read only files.

Ok you need to overright the emperor exe file in the main dir. were you installed the game. i used the game & emperor exe's found on this site both go to the main dir. were you installed the game to. Next make sure the game runs with no cd. From here copy the contents of the dir. were you installed the game to to a cd. uninstall the game and copy the cd back to the hard drive hence no need for a install of the game now as many have had problems with trying to install the game with a copy of the 1st cd.

As for the read only atribute there is a file in the main dir. were you installed the game to called keys.map change it so its not read only good idea to do this before doing the copy. As if ya don't you cant remap the keys in the option section of the game.

oke.. so how do i copy cd1?

Glad im no the only one having problems making a backup copy of the install disk. I too need a cracked setup.exe or some very detailed info on how to crack it(likley to not happen, im no programer) So if the only way to make a working copy of the game is to have a cracked setup.exe where can I get it?

BTW: I backed up the CD using Clone CD and then tried to use a safe disk emulator but I had no luck getting it to run the CD.

WARNING!!! - The new version of SafeDisc 2 reacts v.v.badly with safedisc emulators such as PlayBackUp.

I guess the only way for this to work the correct way is to wait for a setup.exe crack or to learn how to crack protections.

hmm.. seems a lot of people have trouble copying emperor, and, well, i've got the DEViANCE release of the game, 4cd's, cracked exe included, and setup.exe works fine if you use one of the included serials.

why don't you upload it?

Why don't you buy it, and then use the No Cd exe like everyone else. Or at least utilize the other options available from the previous posts here.
