I downloaded it, but I am scared to try. Also the exe-Size/Date seems to be exact the same as the 1.07crack...

Don't know that one, you would have to use at own risk, but if date is old then it is probly 1.7 crack.

the one i posted above works with 1.8 , i have been playing on 1.8 for few days now using the above files.

dooheht 03-11-2006 14:53

Well, thanks for the info. Nonetheless I'll wait for the next patch, because even the 1.08 Patch didn't fix my Ambient-Sound-Stutterings...grrr

raymerjacque 03-11-2006 19:42

just because it did not fix your sound does not make it a bad patch. It fixes the armor bug, it fixes the stun lock bug, it fixes bows and crossbows, as well as increase in performance and a whole bunch of other problems, it also fixes broken and bugged quests and npc's. I don't get why you would want to play on old patch ??

dooheht 03-11-2006 20:17

No, I changed my mind recently. I tried to play with the 1.08, but the Soundbug is so annoying, because much athmosphere is gone with stuttering birds/wind.
Also, I didn't encounter any of the mentioned Bugs (lucky me), and my sys is pretty High End, so never beyond 40FPS so long...I'm not playing with the old patch - I'm not playing at all...
I'll wait for the next fix (German Forum says the two guys for the soundworks are on holidays till next week), so I don't ruin the game for me...

Gothic 3 - 1.8 NoCd patch

Ok, i have uploaded the 1.8 NoDvD patch, Complete with added tweaks and files that fixes some ingame bugs.

I have tweaked the hell out of Gothic 3 and I can finaly play it with 1GB ram and a ATI X550 (entry lvl to mid lvl card ) with most settings on medium and my game hardly even stutters, just sometimes in the cities. Out in the open this game is smooth like a babies bottom.

Inside you will find the following files :
1.8 scripts and dll files.

Custom animation files
Custom G3.ini file

Instructions :
-------------
download the 1.8 gothic 3 patch.

About the _compiledAnimation folder, do we just copy the whole folder in GothicIII\Data or just the files inside it?

grayx 04-11-2006 04:27

Well, you can try http://www.gothic-3.ru/files/Gothic3_noCD_1.8b.rar

Gabriel Mury 04-11-2006 04:59

So, after you guys installed the patch and used this NODVD, tell me three things:

1- How is the lensflare bug?

2-How is combat against animals?

3-Are the amount of enemies in Nordmar reduced?

davedave 04-11-2006 11:30

Solved for owners of the image.

Hey guys!

I`ve got Gothic 3 1.8 [Multi] working with the full patch.
Everything you need is a Virtual CD 8 image of Gothic 3 and the fixed image from GCW.

If you mount the fixed image and start Gothic 3, the mounted image will be dismounted. And the game will not start.

I went into the Virtual CD 8-installation folder, looking for a file through Gothic 3 gets control of the mounted image.
If you rename the dll "vc8api.dll" in the ...\Virtual CD v8\System-folder to what ever you want, Gothic 3 can`t dismount the image.
So you can play every version of Gothic 3 [Multi] without changing any game-files.

Am I good? ;-)

I did everything you said but the game won't start. It keeps asking for the original CD and sometimes there's an error with a DLL file. I tried for 40 minutes but it didn' t work.

You have to follow the steps in the readme-file which comes with the fixed image at GCW.

Joe Forster/STA 05-11-2006 06:57

Okay, I thought it`s [Multi]. But it seems that the fixed image is only for the german version. Sorry guys!

this is the problem that most people have.

1. : the translation of the readme is in german.

2. : ( Everything you need is a Virtual CD 8 image of Gothic 3 and the fixed image from GCW. ) They all know of the fixed image from GCW, but they have no idea where to get the virtual CD of gothic 3 or how to make it.

basicly instructions are written very very poorly, and thus they give up after few retries.

easier to just use the partial nodvd patch.
