On the compatibility thing do I set it to NT4?

ArsenalFc 24-10-2005 08:58

Yep, that all still applies, just with Alcohol not Daemon as you said. And do NOT change compatibility!!!!!!!

I'm off in a bit but will be home from work around 6ish and log back on to see if I can help more and *hopefully* get some feedback from others.

My mate has his PC at mine so I may try it totally from fresh on his, depends if I can be bothered to uninstall it all again afterwards cos well, sod him he wants the game he can shell out like I had to!

On a side note, to anyone asking us for the full image:- We PAID for this game outta our own hard earned. Now I'm sorry of you're disc isn't available at present, and while I accuse no one of anything, it's obviously very easy to make up some reason you can't use the original right now, but I don't think anyone would be happy to pay full whack then start helping anyone else get it free. If you bought a painting would you loan it out to others to do a tracing of? Hell no, it's your painting, it goes on your wall and people come to your place to admire it.

Sorry if that's harsh but it may keep this thread to discussion on solving problems, not a repeated request.

noscript 24-10-2005 09:09

damn, are you not able to read? Use SafeDisc 4 Hider, MINI Images are not possible any longer since Safedisc 4.6 does not store the bad sectors in the first 3megs of the image.

ArsenalFc 24-10-2005 09:14

Are YOU not able to maintain a degree of politeness? People have explained that they've tried every method to no avail so I'm TRYING to help them acheive it through the method I'm familiar with. People have said your way doesnt work, they've said mine doesn't, at least I'm on here trying to help people, so if you've got nothing more detailed or worthwhile to say other than "Use Safedisc 4 hider" at least get of the cases of those who are trying to identify the problem and help, and those who are just trying to learn for themselves.

Little bit of politeness goes far mate.

Right I know I'm repeating myself here, but I'm just gonna run through all issues thus far:

You've totally uninstalled the game
You've then reinstalled it
The image is mounted on the virtual drive and then Daemon Tools closed
Dameon Tools is then totally exited from right clicking the taskbar option.
You're loading up Anti-blaxx, and the settings are:

Daemon Tools: c:\**WHEREVER YOU INSTALLED IT\daemon.exe
Security: SecuROM 5
Image: Path to the ind-fm2006.mds file
Game: c:\**WHEREVER YOU INSTALLED IT\fm.exe
It's set to use Daemon Tools and not Alcohol 120%

You right click the antiblaxx icon, choose "Run Game" take the only option (the one you just made) and nowt happens?

You should see 8 cmd boxes appear, and disappear again quite quick. Then nothing happens. For quite a while, but if you press CTRL+ALT+DEL, then click on Processes, you will see the fm.exe process running, just be patient.

Duble check all thats right, if you have problems still, I have just installed it on my work PC to check my methods, and took screenshots of every step. It's working fine.

Just say the word and I'll post the screenshots.

Just registered to post a quick thanks, tried about 20 solutions and yours is the only one that worked! :)

Now, anyone any ideas how to force it to run in windowed?

Make a shortcut to the fm2006.exe and right click it and select properties. Now add to the end of the target line -small_screen -windowed.
So it should say exactly this in target:
"C:\Program Files\SEGA\Football Manager 2006\fm2006.exe" -small_screen -windowed or whatever your shortcut is

i appear to have cracked it (no pun intended)

you need to rename the .mdf & .mds to

"fm2006.mdf" and "fm2006.mds"

i had the same problems you did, but did the above and follwed the instructions left here previouly and it works now

huzzah!

whateverandever1982 24-10-2005 09:45

BTW I am guessing after

I install the game and the patch before continuing

Make sure your image is .mdf format, from Alcohol 120%
Install Daemon Tools, mount the .mds image and EXIT DAEMON TOOLS. This means it should NOT be running in your taskbar at all!
Install and run AntiBlaxx. Right click on the icon in your taskbar and click on Settings.
Click the button next to Deamon Tools in the popup window and browse to the .exe file.
In the "Protection" box select "SecuROM 5"
Click the button next to the "Game" field and browse to the fm.exe file wherever you installed the game.
Tick the box that says "Mount Image", make sure that the circular box next to Daemon Tools to the right of this is selected, then click the button next to the Image box and browse to the mds file. Finally make sure device is set to Device 0 (assuming you didn't ceate additional virtual drives in Daemon Tools)

When all this is done, make sure Daemon Tools IS NOT RUNNING and right click the anti-blaxx icon, go up to Run Game and select the only one in there (default name is simply Gamename).

Now it will seem like nothing is happening. Double click the FM2006 shortcut on your desktop and an error box apppears saying the game is already running. Click the button to close that error message and wait a moment, the game will load. After that you should be able to run it from antiblaxx everytime you want to play.

This works well for me! I made the image of 752mb yesterday.. then I did exactly what you describe, only I let Daemon Tools run... Fm started one time without cd.. I quit and wanted to play again, and nothing worked... I uninstalled Daemon/Alcoholic/Antiblaxx.. and installed it again, now I did exactly what you mentioned here above and it works!! I quit FM and played again several times, and it's still working!! :D
Thank you!

whateverandever1982 24-10-2005 10:07

Ok, I got it working, then I quit and tried it again and then FM loaded but only a black screen and then it came up with the 'pls insert correct' cd error so now it doesnt load at all, I give up with this now.
