Compression level 4 is 7-Zip ultra compression

hi can fix this mode ? the ultra compression not working , i think because ultraarc using 32bit of 7zip which not support more than 4gb ram , my self got 16gb ram installed .

it does work, make sure all your settings are correct on each tab before pressing start.

i just returned from the cave. how to use this thing?

i used UA_3030_30062015 and UA_2400_30062015
both of them return with same error.
my pc is Windows 8.1

Had the same error, but only while using precomp. It still helps to have the UltraARC folder on not OS partition. Don`t know why.

I thought I did answer your question (probably the forum thought I was spamming), well none of you asked is possible, one because I don't have source and two, Parallel compression isn't possible, even when you're running cmd compression the ultra arc, I designed it such a way that if you run two processes, information will clash which will cause errors so i had to avoid that.

Ahh, ok, i do understand. Thanks for your answer. I will try it with two users on the server. Maybe i can start two processes, each for one user. I will give feedback here.

razor can you add compress option without split example:

Setup-1a.bin, Setup-1b.bin, setup-1c.bin,setup-2a.bin, etc like internal compression

So far, records.ini is embedded on setup.exe (That is if the setup is created with ASC). There are going to be two methods of using the new conversion tool. Splitting and Non-Splitting method. If you got a lot of metal in circular form lying around then non-splitting method is the way to go but if your pockets are filled with oxygen then splitting method is the way to go.
Consider this scenario If
data1.bin = 3.2GB
data2.bin = 1.7GB
data3.bin = 2.0GB
data4.bin = 1.5GB
with splitting method this is what happens:
data1.bin(3.2GB) and part of data2.bin(1.1GB) are going to fit in DVD1.
The other part of data2.bin(600MB) will go in DVD2 along with data3.bin(2.0GB) and data4.bin(1.5GB)
To make:
DVD1 = 4.3GB
DVD2 = 4.1GB
without splitting method this is what happens:
data1.bin(3.2GB) is going to fit in DVD1.
data2.bin(1.7GB) is going to fit in DVD2(it can’t fit in one because there’ll be an overload) along with data3.bin(2.0GB).
data4.bin(1.5GB) will going in DVD3.
To make:
DVD1 = 3.2GB
DVD2 = 3.7GB
DVD3 = 1.5GB
Same output but different number of DVDs, most would go for the splitting method but there is a catch, the splitting method needs additional space when compressing and when decompressing, this means more time is needed.


records.ini for setup made with Inno Setup will still be near the exe, the reason for this is that I can't make it work like the one for ASC else the exe becomes corrupt.

Bro, I use UltraArc with installer creator, and it doesn't need the records.ini for installation(as you already know) and bro I will make password archives from ultraarc and then type the password in the Installer Creator. So there will be password feature also, if anyone wants to use then he can use like ME! Razor12911 please do it, I request you

So, you are creating archives indirectly by using UltraARC, meaning you are misusing the program therefore I cannot add the request because UltraARC isn't only used only by Installer Creator, it is also used by CI, CIU RG Mechanics and other variants compatible with the program, I even created a separate compressing tool for called Compressor v2, it has the password feature and is compatible with Installer Creator.

Requesting too. I`m using UltraARC with CIU2 for my hundreds of repacks. I love this tool for it`s simplicity. Pls Razor, implent that feature for us - it would be like a christmas gift for us :)

Is there anyway to automate batch processing/archiving? For example I would like to have Ultra Arc compress Four different sources one after another, instead of having to specify just one source each at a time?

Would this be for a Compilation of games into one installer?
IE: Kings Quest 1, Kings Quest 2, Kings Quest 3, Kings Quest 4
All installed into main folder Sierra ( just made up names to give idea )

if so then choose on the conditions tab 1 source per line
also need to set components in ISS script as well.
