You do not need to edit arc.ini?

no just replace srep.exe with srep64.exe & rename it back to srep.exe

Also make sure srep64's version is 3.91 beta or better. -m5f is not available in all srep versions, some have -m3f as the maximum.

Well if I had the source, I'd do that. srep can be updated to 3.93b, but the 64 bit part cannot be done. Just use the backdoor method to do that, replace srep.exe with srep64.exe. Copy, delete and rename. Do the same with the srep.exe from the installer.
I have to start ultra arc from scratch, which is no problem because I know how I created it the first time, but I do not have time nowadays.

Yea, If you want, but don't ask me questions about errors and all that. You can sacrifice precomp042, update arc.ini, do the same with the installer. Replace precomp042 with precomp043.

firstly Problem : When I use (UA_3030_30062015)..When I start procedure then nothing happens after waiting..but when I click on close then suddenly starts the process of conversion and complete successfuly AND UA close itself because I click on close button to start the process..! It does'nt happen with (UA_2400_30062015)

So , my config. in Both UA are same like : RUN AS ADMIN, Compat. with Win7, compression with freearc and Threshold 100 % (No matter I have enough space)

So , where is the problem in (UA_3030_30062015) or This problem in my pc but i don't think its in my pc as (UA_2400_30062015) is run well.

Second : Why there is difference in compression ratio in both UA version..I think (UA_2400_30062015) do slightly much compress..!

Well 3030 doesn't work because of operating system. It works on Windows 7 perfectly I think, although I tested it on Windows 8.1 from my PC and it still worked. Well I think the problem is still not clear.

The change compression ratio may be caused by lzma method change. Members wanted lzma to use more memory and that was the result. So yea, I gave members what they wanted, although I knew the side effects, I just didn't tell.

Same here, I tested it on Win7, Win7 SP1 Win 8.1 and Win 8.1 Update 1. On 3 different PCs, with or without freearc installed. There was a problem like this in Installer Creator, all I did was make a 64-bit edition of it then it was fixed.

I installed win 8.1 Again and all window updates and It works without any problem.. OK But I want to tell that there is still good compression with (UA_2400_30062015) and COMPRESSOR v2.2.Means like 2% for ~4gb..It depends also on files but I am not saying this is better because of time (time is important) so in this fact (UA_3030_30062015) is much better..!
There is still one problem in compressor_After complete process there is still left (temp) folder.It should be delete after process....No problem because we use UA Mostly now..!

An archive I packed with 2400 is saying a CRC32 mismatch when trying to extract a file. Is there a way to bypass the file with the failed CRC32 and extract the rest of the archive?

just manually use freearc to open the file & extract it to temp folder.

Since I used msc, lzma, delta, srep and stuff, FreeArc can be used to view the contents, but can't extract from it.

unfortunately then the only way to redo it, is to reinstall original game. Then re-do the conversion & use only srep, delta, lzma, exe, exe2. I too have had issues using msc in the past & no longer use it at all. IF you still have original game installed, simply delete the archives created with UA & records.ini, change compression method like I mentioned and start over.

Is there anyway to change the parameter of precomp from( -slow) to ( -fast) in ultraArc..? If yes then How..? Please Guide Me..:(

Hi, using the following didn`t work:

1. UltraARC is on Drive C
2. Source Folder is on Drive C
3. Output Folder is on Drive C
4. Using PreComp

"Can`t copy ..." Is given after few mins.

There is enough space on the drive. Admin rights are given.

This works:

1. UltraARC is on Drive D
2. Source Folder is on Drive D
3. Output Folder is on Drive D
4. Using PreComp

Is there any way to get a solution? I want to use Drive C, because an SSD is much faster than a HDD.

Complete New OS install with all updates DX, VCredist Net Framework, etc & Still cannot run UA3030. That's why I still use 2400.

i found the problem, the problem is with antivirus (i have bitdefender total security 2015, i think you have this to).

Disable the Intrusion Detection and the antivirus too.

I have also the same problem. when i enable the intrusion detection then UA3030 will not open and give the error, but when disable the intrusion detection then UA3030 will open and works

no I don't have that AV, & I have allowed it in my AV, processes & folder. Still cannot run it, even with AV OFF.

I split my game to 3 part! (data1a.cab , data1b.cab , data1c.cab)
your "Black_Box_ultraarc" installer will merge these 3 part to one part at Drive C {tmp}
I don't Want this to happen. I want to Merge these 3 part at {app}
so:
I changed "records.ini" and replaced {tmp} to {app}
the problem :
creating of new folder of {app} is after merging. so there is no {app} directory and merging will faild.
I want the installer to create that {app} directory automatically before merging.(if i create it Manually,it will work fine)

Razor has already stated he will rework UA, to extract to {app} rather then windows\temp. Just give him time to do so & he will update first post when its done.

UltraARC has NOW been updated to use {app} rather then windows\temp.
Replace UltraARC.exe with UltraARC_mod.exe, choose either 2410 version or 3040 version.

Also CIU Versions 1006-2036 Have been updated in post #2, so please update to latest
version for your copies as well.

-can i use 2030 or 2036 without Ultrarc

NO those have been designed to use UltraARC. If you have 2030, then you have 2036
just replace the files.

I can't compile CIU2036 or 2030 .... (tested with Inno Setup Enhanced Unicode)
