1. Install the game. Update game to latest version, add NOCD if needed.
2. Download attachment, extract to HD, NOT in Gamefolder.
3. Run UltraARC, Browse/Select Your installed game & Output location.
4. Test the conversion.

See post #6, thanks to Droppo for what to do.

You can try with just removing this file "AtelierSophie_manual.pdf" since it's kinda useless.
Another workaround is to "put a dummy file with this name "opening.wmv" in \Data\Win32\Movie since it's an intro video only and the game will work like nothing happened....

I just realized that now. :(
I went all the way to recode those videos, lower bit rate [around 5k-8k]. So all is good now, 1 DVD5

I just removed the PDF manual and it fits in 1 DVD5 without problems...

With the last update (1.0.0.19) the Data1.bin is 4.42 GB. That's without redistributables (redists on DVD).

Nope, that's 30 MB, that wouldn't make a difference at this point. With CommonRedists and everything else, the whole package is 4.54 GB. Too much for a DVD5 at this point.

Frankly, if I wanted a DVD5, it might've been worth it, but I don't want to lose the opening video. Or anything else for that matter. Bottom line is, without file modification or e.g. the dreaded precomp, it'll be impossible to fit into a single DVD5 but that's fine for me honestly. I was just reporting final size, not b!tching about it. It's quite all right to have it 4.54 GB.

seems like they made completely new DX versions (seems to be completely new 2021's ports)
(Atelier Sophie DX on Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1502970/Atelier_Sophie_The_Alchemist_of_the_Mysterious_Boo k_DX/))
Can you update for "Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book DX"?
Exe: Atelier_Sophie_DX_Launcher.exe
HDD: 9.39 GB
Redists: DirectX + vc2012 + vc 2019

Is this version still working? For me this game reminded me of the novel "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao", there too the secondary characters create more interest than the main character. If you're also interested, then read at least a short description from https://freebooksummary.com/category/the-brief-wondrous-life-of-oscar-wao and decide whether it's worth it or not. This game is a part of my past and I wish I had bought it to relive those memories.
